Those scenarios are so unbelievably far from each other that I had to think for a while who in the world you where talking about.

I think you are forgetting that RGIII's career was basically over after year 1. I am not sure how you forgot this.

I didn't forget about it, but in 2015 it felt like we had the QB question solved for like 10 more years man.  It was over basically after that.

It wasn't RG3 but it was disappointment and loss from injury on an even bigger scale.

You’re right, again on X, that’s what’s being said. Anyone who actually watched could tell that the Cards defense was different in the second half…until the game was on the line the last drive, then they went into first half mode.

Sadly, Bryce switched to first half mode with the defense.

Garbage stats? So he threw for 250 yards and 3 TDs in garbage time only? Well if that's the case then the worst teams should lead the NFL in passing every year. Geez.

Slow start? Heck yes. Horrible start actually. But that doesn't take away from how he finished. A defense might give you one drive to close the gap, but they ain't giving you 3.

Generally speaking, as bad as we are, we aren’t trailing by 24 the first time we touch the ball in the second half.

and he finished how we started.  Really bad

I always knew Cam wasn't long for the League. If he didn't win a Superbowl by 30 it wasn't happening

That really was what took the wind out of the sails of the comeback, how bad he looked on that final drive.

He can sometimes catch lightning in a bottle, he did last season for a stretch, but when it goes south he reverts back to not looking like he has ever played above a HS football level.

That zone was so soft that 3 guys were bearly on the screen. No rushing called. Playing off the line 10+ yards. Yeah that's garbage time. It took an onsides kick to make them try to play D again. Until then they didn't care and still wouldn't play real D against Young until they absolutely had to and that was with backups in the backfield.

Slow start is freaking hilarious. He was gifted the lowest effort a bad team can give and still couldn't put anything together for 1 freaking series at the end after 2 quarters of warmup ball. It was like watching someone stretching for an hour and then pull a hammy after 10 feet of running.

Not the biggest fan of PFF grades long but they made an interesting point on their commentary this week

Bryce Young is presently per them one the worst “deep passers in the NFL” this year.   Which was the comeback narrative of being great at it.  But PFF deep is actually intermediate.  It’s 10 yards.

During his comeback he was able to get off those intermediate passes because of the big shift defenses went running man and blitzing.

where Bryce struggles the most to date is just being asked to stand in the pocket and throw into coverage.   And really struggles on top of that if folks start disguising stuff.  (This part is me….and his small stature and arm struggle facing that)

so I would expect people just don’t give him man.  Dial back the blitzing and just ask him to play into coverage with his arm.

I mean, the record speaks for itself at this point. He is 6-24 as a starter and his INT% has gone up from 1.9 to 2.3 to 3.3 each year.

He is far from completely to blame but 100% of the indicators are that the NFL has largely figured him out.

What did Parcells say…..he better walk on water?  Well, he can’t.   And if he can’t….well you need to move on quick.  I think we already a clear a year late in that

He finished horribly. Went 0-6 in that final drive where the team needed him most.
