Is Tua our next QB?

Tua? The best version of Tua was basically Bryce's theoretical ceiling but the current version of Tua has basically regressed to the level of Bryce. I don't know if it's the effect of injuries or what, but his arrow is pointing straight down. Moving on from Bryce to replace him with Tua would be a lateral move at best.

Tua needs to be a backup both for football reasons and medical. That dude needs to stop taking hits to the head.

what could be realistic? I mean, I don't want it to happen at all and I would be totally against it....

but Russell Wilson has high odds of being available.  Giants just renting him for a year.  He is THE Seattle QB.  He would check a lot of the boxes.   He is doing it right now for NY and obviously the Canales/Seattle connection.

Eh....on paper that is a big upgrade but time isn't being super kind to Wilson. Not nearly as elusive as he once was.

Not sure a 38 year old Russell is much more than another 1 year rental.

Now, pair him with a good, young drafted QB....I am in. Let the vet take a seasons worth of bullets while we keep building.

If we move off Bryce I could see us getting Stafford for the last 2 years of his career and drafting someone high. We’d have to pay him one last fat paycheck cause I can’t imagine he wants to come here. Think he’s already due $30M in 2026, imagine we’d need to give him 40 through 2027

I'm not against bringing in Trey Lance honestly.  He has sat for a while under several different solid coaches and he is still only 25 (turns 26 in May).  He has every physical tool you want and I'd like to see what Canales can get out of him.  I mean he got the Niners to take him at 3 who typically know what they are doing, they just stumbled into Purdy while he was out.

Stafford is dinged up constantly. Why on earth would he want to come to the worst franchise in the NFL?

He is going to end his career with the Rams.

I'm assuming the thought is bring in a vet for short term stability.  Find a youngster that you aren't forced to start week 1.  So yeah, Wilson basically repeating what he is doing right now.

Yeah, I was about to say if I'm Stafford I'm retiring before coming to this poo show. The guy spent most of his career toiling away for a bad franchise before landing in a good situation with the Rams, why would he want to finish his career with another poo show? I'd just head to the house before doing that. He's made plenty of money.

At somewhere near his current salary, sure.

I don't think he is going to have any desire to come here unless all 31 other teams pass, however.

He has been a backup his last 2 stops.  Here he would have a chance to start with a decent OL and having TMac helps.  If he ever wants to make a lot of money he is going to have to be a starter somewhere.
