We won, but Bryce and Canalas still blow

The sunshine pumpers will claim superb owl after today. Sheep.  They will kiss teppers ass and say Bryce is the best. I can’t wait to read it. Esp when pillows and Canalas suck it up again next week

Can you link ONE post where someone has said we are SB bound or Bryce is a stud QB1? Everyone here is happy with progress we are showing while acknowledging things to continue improving on. You guys love to live in extreme hyperbole and martyr yourselves, it's weird af.

We gifted them one of those FGs with a dropped punt so I wouldn’t give the Falcons much credit for the first one. We also kept Penix from getting comfortable. Evero was dialing up some blitzes and it worked.

Oh yea, not giving them credit, but just saying maybe we shouldn't be claiming as much credit as some fans seem to be.

Falcons had 2 missed FGs, an INT, and a fumble all in our side of the field.

The people celebrating "we blew out a division rival in a shutout" are a classic case of not being able to see the forest through the trees right now.

We won, we shut them out, fug the Falcons, all of it, but I'm also always going to call it like I see it, and this wasn't some statement game, we won, but we still didn't *actually* look all that great out there.

What plays stood out to you as being negative?

Trying to find a balance of good vs. bad for this week's all-22 review... otherwise I'm just going to be shamelessly dunking on haters. 😛

In a year we are contenders, yea, I'm more willing to enjoy a win no matter how it comes, and save the complaining for Monday morning.

But as I've said countless times over the last few months, I don't care one bit about winning or losing games this year.  I want to see improvement from the players and staff, as well as determining Bryce's ability to be our future QB.

Games like today don't help evaluate Bryce one bit, we only had 17 chances to do that this year, he sucked in the first two and now we threw away the 3rd chance by not letting him throw the ball more than 5 yards down field on more than like 3 pass attempts.

So ya, I'm going to question the play calling, this isn't a team in a place to just coast to wins because the other team poo the bed.  We need to use these games to our advantage and push the envelope to see what Bryce can do since we had the win in the bag, and if he made a few mistakes, so be it, we were still going to win it.

So you want to throw it 40 times just to see who Bryce is?

sorry, but no. The game today is who this team wants to be. 30-40 runs, 20 passing attempts.

What's the point of this? Okay they make 2 field goals and we only win by 24. Evero deserves his credit today, we made Penix uncomfortable.

If they make those two FGs, it's a 7-6 game into the 2nd Quarter, if you don't think that wouldn't have completely changed this game, then you're purposefully being obtuse.

Not to double post, but also if you thought Bryce wasn’t good today you need to stop evaluating football.

The first drive definitely, i didn't think he did that much afterwards. But the main thing is he didn't turn the ball over or gift wrap points so that's a win for him.

Bryce sailed 1 and then put another in the dirt. Both easy first downs he missed. We had a few missed tackles on Bijan and then I think (not sure gotta rewatch) TMac ran the wrong route on a third down. Defense had a few missed tackles, but that's gonna happen against Bijan. Def more good than bad today

I also think people are looking at the shutout and 30 point win and forgetting that it only happened because of two missed FGs and Penix gifting us some turnovers that were his fault and not something our defense caused.

So yea, we won, we had a shutout, but I'd still say those things were much more because of the Falcons own mistakes than us forcing them into those.

What happened to Atlanta today is what happened to us the past 2 weeks. The home team won. This is the first week our mistakes like a botched punt return haven't hurt us big time. The team that wins the turnover battle and makes the fewest mistakes usually wins. That is not a cautionary tale so much as a formula for success.

Yes.

Finding out who Bryce is, is the ONLY thing that matters to me this year, because we need to either extend him or move on from him after this year, we can't go into next year still not knowing if he is our future or not.

I don't care about winning games like this, I don't care about winning games at all, just like I don't care about losing games either.  I only care about Bryce and the staff proving themselves to be our future or not to be our future, this game didn't move that needle even the slightest.

Hate on me for not being able to enjoy wins more, but I want a SB, not meaningless wins in an ugly game in a 6-11 season.  The best path to a future SB for this franchise is by learning what Bryce can be (or not be) THIS season and being able to make a long term call this offseason because of it.

Do you recall which quarters those were doing? I remember two bad throws in the first half... same ones that I'm thinking of, maybe?

Right now I'm thinking about of using one good + one bad for the defense vs the run and vs the pass, one run + one pass (good and bad) for the offense, and then a good + bad play for special teams.

As much as I'd love to do all good stuff, the stuff that was done wrong imo gives us the most information on what the team is going to focus on improving between games.

That feels like a stretch but by that logic I can go find am million "if we" plays to counter. We weren't going to lose this game with how uncomfortable Evero had Penix. That was the difference in this game.
