Up all night crying about the same stuff we already know. Boo hoo, you will have 14 more games to see bryce and im sure we will be down in majority of them to see him pass more. Again, he will start the rest of the season and either improve or lead us to his replacement. Enjoy a shutout and have a beer or something.

The way your fan brain thinks isn’t the way an NFL coaches brain thinks.. It’s not Madden. I get that some fans want to see BY sling the ball around in a blowout, but the HC job is to call plays to win the game in a responsible manner. What coach would stop running the ball when they are having consistent success only to pass the ball when you already have a large lead? Who would take Canales seriously in the locker room? Who would take him seriously around the league if he did that? The coaching staff get to see BY at practice everyday and have 2 years of tape. It’s week 3. There’s still a lot of more ball to be played. Enjoy the ride.

Not really sure I’d say we had “constant success” on the ground either.

Take away Dalton’s kneel down and Bryce’s scrambles and we had 103 yards on 27 carries.

Not garbage, but not constant success to where it wouldn’t have been reasonable to let your QB try and gain some confidence by throwing it a bit more, or even just further down the field.

I’m happy we won, but just frustrated in that we somehow didn’t even look that great in a 30-0 win because it was largely due to the Falcons ineptitude and bad mistakes.

We only had 2 drives all game of over 30 yards, the 61 yard opening TD drive and a 48 yard drive for a FG.  So it’s not like our offense was some well oiled machine that couldn’t have been trying to throw and push it downfield more.

Yesterday was also the first time we saw all three phases of this team play complimentary football during not just Canales' tenure but Young's as well.

While he didn't have to light it up through the air, he did spread the ball around to nine different players. TMac's drops hurt, but the team was able to rally still thanks to the defense finally getting to play with a lead. Plus, TMac still had his positive moments like the catch and run as well as the poster-shot he created by climbing the ladder.

I hope that this lit a fire under XL. With Tremayne's emergence and Coker coming back from IR in the next 1 - 3 weeks there is going to be less patience with his issues. Let's not forget though the most important thing to watch for: how XL responds to the adversity. Nobody is going to have a perfect career, but how they handle the down lows will be what gives them a chance to get back to experiencing the highs again.

Hopefully XL has a BY reset when he comes back.

Exactly, my frustration today is with the play calling.

We had a chance to let Bryce play loose and see what he can do, we didn't even attempt to take advantage of it in the slightest.

I'm jealous of the fans who can legitimately get excited about games like today after how everything has gone since the 2015 season.

I'm so sick of celebrating a few random wins each year, I'm done with it.  I legitimately would be more excited about Bryce looking like a stud in a game we lose than what happened today.

Because at least that scenario helps us long term, today literally doesn't help us one bit.  And hell, for a fan base that has been calling for our DC to be fired, if anything, a game like this should just piss those people off more if you genuinely think he's a bad coach and needs to go, as this isn't going to help that happen either.

Defense dominated from like the 3rd drive. Going pass happy against a team of speed rushers would have been the only way to give them momentum and open the door to a possible comeback. This ain't a BY thing, it's a football thing. No team is ratcheting up the pass plays in yesterday's scenario - from middle school to the pros.

It's really bad football to watch. At their best it's boring and hard to find any respect for that wasted time.

Are there any decent teams anymore in the NFL or is it just bad vs worse every game?

It’s not the teams, it’s the league. Since 2018 GMs have spent considerable time and resources building personnel for nickel and dime packages. It caught up in 2024 and offenses are adapting back ahead of it. Look no further than the SB champions last year.

That's the normal changes the leauge always has. something new and then the adaptation.

The talent coming out of school is just not very good and has been on a decline for some time.

That probably is a part of it but I really think the QB rule changes and move away from violence and physicality for ball carriers was the biggest change the NFL had ever gone through and impacted the game immensely. Even more so than the Mel Blount. I was watching the 2008 AFC championship game the other day and it’s a completely different sport.

You can really see it when you look at the explosion of and access to online betting and high fee fantasy football as well. Rules were changed to favor higher scoring games increasing the spreads and making the games more exciting and lucrative for gamblers.

It should have helped but they can't prop up the level of quality even with those rule changes. It helped WRs where duds can be identified really early. The QB play is so bad teams are fine with playing washed guys who still outshine the younger guys. The olines has also dropped.

It's softer for sure but I still think it's what is being filled up into the leauge.

Sunday was a Vegas day. Nobody won money yesterday. This happens every year. Might be the Packers only loss all season. I honestly don't care what Bryce's stats are as long as we hog the clock and convert on third down.
