Also ironic that just yesterday there were a few people who said that expecting more completed passes beyond a measly 5 yards is basically akin to throwing into double coverage downfield and throwing bombs.

I don’t think I will ever accept that 20 yards is a deep ball. The Red Zone is 20 yards. That is supposed to designate that you are close to the end zone lol.

I agree. It's indicative of how much standards have been pushed back just to justify our decision.

But if you ask too many questions about these things the boot lickers come out. I'm looking at you @csx

I hesitated to speak the opinion because of the villagers and theirpitchforks.

I don’t know when that happened, the 20 yard deep ball. Maybe FF brought it about.
20 yards for a chunk play, I get that. It’s a nice gain.

Let them come.

It's a combination of things. The definition of a deep pass will always be what past iterations of football was for many despite what these statistical outlets try to push in order to prop up their newer generations of favorites. But even with all that. It's still situational. It's okay to take what defenses are giving you as long as your guy has the prerequisite physical talent to adapt to a more downfield attack. The problem is when that doesn't exist you need everything to go perfect or the other team to flounder and gift you field position and points. Which is where we're at.

This stat has very little to do with winning games. Philadelphia is 28th at 4.4 and Tampa is 22 at 5.1 but both are undefeated. Meanwhile Dallas is 7th but is at 1-2.

Points  made per game versus points surrendered is the only stat that matters  and we are 19th at around 20 points per game. Not great but a good recovery after week 1. Why aren't we using that stat? I guess because it doesn't look so bad and we need to keep pushing the bad Bryce narrative.

just let him go dude, he clearly doesnt get it

I get a lot more than you. Scheme dictates average yards per play for example. If you run a lot like Philly your average yards per play will go down versus a team that passes all the time. And if you only play 3 games  then one outlier like Jacksonville holds more weight than it should. Plus yards per play doesn't correlate to wins for example versus effectiveness in the red zone. So yeah I get it and know that stats like yards per game much like yards per play have little correlation with wins and loses and the final score is the only thing that matters at the end of the day not some BS cherry picked stat.
