Whoever it is I don't want to hear "throws with great anticipation." , "is a great facilitator of the ball", "is like a point guard", or compared to any basketball player

To even be considered, the guy must look like an NFL QB. What part of that is so hard to understand for these people?

Well Brees, Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray don't particularly look like NFL QB's but they all at least had elite attributes. How about start there?

Brees wasn’t 6’4” otherwise he looks like a QB. Mayfield is about his size.
Thise guys are the edge of the envelope, where I look at a guy and have questions. Size wise they are the Southern borderline. Don’t cross it.

Bro you can keep Murray. I will be good if a Murray slips through the cracks because of my higher bar. Outlier and not really that good a pro. At all. I agree he has tools.  Fast elusive and a cannon. But I play the odds when it comes to this stuff.

And Wilson was a third rounder and honestly I never thought he was that good. (Jump balls and a killer running attack and a killer D, he had success). Not so much since…(but he worked out great for a third round investment. That’s how you do it.Also, the context here is 1st round high pick that’s where I am at with it).

Tbf most of the good qbs aren't top 5 picks. Mahomes- 10th, Allen- 7th, Jackson 32, herbert - 6th, love- 26, hurts -53.

Most top picks especially lately have been cheeks

Good point. Too many my fellow Huddlers think that the only way to get a franchise QB is to tank a season so we get a top 5 pick.

Draft Qb's wherever you want and actually have a competition in camp

Yes, no more awarding players unchallenged starting positions. And never make bad players your captains. What kind of message does that send? This fuggin team drives me crazy. lol

Im just saying, Mendoza or Moore at 8 to 10 range if one of them is there is an appealing option. If you go defense, at least look at one of the 2nd tier guys in the 2nd or 3rd round so you can have options and competition.

I genuinely don't even think we end up inside the Top 5 of the draft.

At some point (if not even next week) they're going to have to bench Bryce and Dalton will end up winning a couple games and sticking us yet again in that dreaded 7th-9th pick range.

It's NFL purgatory, never good enough to contend, never bad enough to get the elite QB prospects

Allen went 7th overall.  Mahomes went 10th overall.  Lamar went 32nd overall.

  • Rankings are crazily evolving this time of year.  My own included, but I still think this is a super exciting class compared to past years.
  • Nuss & Beck (Seniors) will be coming out for sure, but their buzz is being muted by the big risers; I'm not sure they're high draft picks.  Nuss maybe.
  • Sellers (20 y/o) is an evolving case, sky high potential, athleticism and crazy deep ball...but being just 20, does he come out yet? Or go the Cam Ward type route?
  • Indiana plays Oregon Oct 11. Mendoza (22 y/o) vs. Moore (20 y/o)
  • That game is showcasing the two rising prospects this season generating the buzz.  Will be one for Panthers fans to watch.  Both of these guys have an ARM.
  • John Mateer (21 y/o) is coming back in 1-2 weeks.  He could still crank out a very nice season.

So let's say Sellers & Moore go back to school...(they'd be in the top-3)

Still high on:

-round 1 guys-

1. John Mateer - exciting guy, top-of-R1 worthy

2. Garrett Nussmeier - slight slump but still a nice prospect

3. Fernando Mendoza (pending closer look) - major boom/buzz happening with him

-tier drop-

4. Carson Beck - The next McCarron/Bennett type guy

5. Sam Leavitt - There's a lot to like, but he's a bit too..ordinary? Want a higher ceiling.

6. Drew Allar - a guy that people want to like but they just hasn't played to level you want.  I don't see the feel/energy in his work.

7. Cade Klubnik - oof, stay away

*watch: Taylen Green Arkansas

Panthers are full on ass, but I still don't think we're wrestling the #1 pick away from the Titans and Saints especially, and maybe even the Jets too. Probably picking in that 4-6 range.

The Bengals are pure ass too and with Burrow expected to be out until December they're gonna be done by then and they'd be insane to put him back in the field again this year. They might be in the mix too.
