Last year, Canales said Bryce would be the starter in his presser after the week 2 game….

Canales can’t make the call to bench him until Tepper tells him he can

You really can't bench him at this point unless you also don't even dress him.

Benching Bryce and then being forced to play him again and him looking even serviceable like last year, would be the absolute worst thing possible, because then it just creates more uncertainty.

And once you bench him for Dalton, it's signaling to the rest of the team that you're just throwing in the towel too.

This is a really bad situation with no good way out of it this year.

Every other phase and the other players sucked so bad today that Bryce won’t be in the spotlight as much. There’s also no point in playing Dalton. Just ride it out, bottom out and pick another qb next year.
