I think the bones are there if we can get a big strong fast gunslinger. Just gotta add some juice and get a new Defensive coordinator

Yeah, if we can get a QB, HC, DC, FO, most of a defense, almost all depth, probably a kicker and a competent owner....we are probably right there

He did a pretty good one last year I think. He does watch the film, at least I think it was him that said you can’t give a good take without doing that and plenty of guys were not watching film before giving their takes.
I might be mistaking him for a different analyst.

Much better version is for sure a relative term.

I like what Schlereth said about evaluating anything because everything is so bad. I am even disheartened about starting over at QB due to all the other needs. Someone was talking about stripping it down to the studs recently and I'm like we're beneath the floorboards currently.

Mark Schlereth called an awful game on Sunday.

Excuse after excuse for a QB that couldn't execute the basics.

We're by no means a good football team, but we're not that bad that we should be getting blown out in New England. It's probably a team that can win 5-7 games, depending on the bounce of the ball with a competent NFL QB. Change that to a good NFL QB and you're looking at 7-9 games.

There's no stripping back from here - you're too committed financially. Nobody is giving you anything for your two expensive OGs or you expensive RT. The value on Horn and Brown isn't that high either now they're on monster second contracts.

You have to continue to build with what you have - there's the foundation of a good team here, but it's going to take several more Drafts to get there.

I mean, the entire franchise got razed to the ground during the Rhule era. It didn't get better since.

Several more drafts if we start drafting competently in 2026. If we keep on the current course, there is no real end to this in sight.

The biggest danger is not figuring it out consistently, always remaining in the bottom 5 in roster quality and then your minimal core assets start aging out or going elsewhere.

TBH, I think we will have a winning season around the early 2030's but it's not guaranteed. I shudder to think that perhaps we are merely halfway through the true suck. That fear is always at the back of my mind.

    • I do think with Fields you must include his rushing, where he has averaged 800 yards per season over 17 games. So he'd be at 3400 yards total in a season. Bryce in comparison is at 2900 yards passing plus 250 yards rushing so just a bit under Fields. Still not even impressive numbers for either of them. I personally found Fields more fun to watch l but I wouldn't choose either of them anymore.
    • Richardson and it's not even close.
    • That’s me. It is a lifelong staple of existence. Watching NFL since I was a youngster in Redskins territory. bBt wasn’t a Redskins fan really, we weren’t that close to DC. I was a Colts fan because my cousins moved to Baltimore. Then Irsay Sr Sr moved them in the dead of night in a huge betrayal. So I was cut loose to be a FA which it sucks to not have a team of your own.  This is why I always loved JR. He gave me a team. So I was automatically a Panthers fan from day one.  What Tepper has done, he should be made to feel ashamed. He is disliked by many and for good reason. He tore our pretty darned good thing down starting the day he took over. Bryce Young is just his most recent instrument of torture.
