Diaby was one of many guys plenty of people around here were excited about.

Byron Young and Tuli were two in particular that completely presented themselves to us.

It's rough to look back on.

i traded for Diaby in Madden 24 and he was an absolute beast.

They were supposedly looking for football players and looking at production. As opposed to athletes. Looking for dawgs

I really think Tepper meddled hard in the top of the 2024 draft and so that throws the value system out the window. This year I feel pretty good about the players we brought in, and the guys we picked on day three in 2024 yielded some dividends.

Viewed through the lens of Tepper meddled round 1/2 and the later picks are pretty decent, and the 2025 yield looks strong, the narrative about shitty drafting may be dated. If you choose to separate the Tepper and the GM/HC picks it looks much better

I don’t know if that scenario is accurate but I think it is reasonable to game it that way

This with the misfit players drafted is timely.
That is where continuity comes in. When you are changing coaches ever couple of years you get an abundance of players that can be ill suited. Plus it is hard on the players having to learn things and they have to think too much. I think we have seen that.

I can’t say what we’d better do, not trying to turn it into that. But if we do not make the right decision on coaching and GM we will be doing it again in two years. At some point you know, you have to maybe stick with some people. I am not here to argue if those people are Dan and Dave just the concept. We have to have that.

Answers for how to fix this will take as long to find as it took to create.

I will say that I noticed a few things going in in the draft videos they put out that was different in the 2024 draft. Canales had almost no involvement in the pick discussions. It was if he and Tepper were bystanders. It appeared Fan and Brandt made every decision. Did you notice that?

I did not notice that. I would have to watch but will take your word for it.
Dave C was the new guy. They probably told him just watch us work lol.

I cannot remember much of the 2024 draft room video but I do remember him heavily involved with the Legette pick. Then him being quiet in this draft stood out to me. I have this quirk of noticing things like that.

Why cut him now though?

Food for thought:

-Canales says need to start playing young guys more.

-Jones/Wonnum out; great opportunity for Princeley/Scourton to play.

-Instead Johnson starts and plays a ton.

Did Morgan cut one of Evero’s guys to make him play the younger guys?

It sure seems like it. I like it.

For the accountability camp it seems like it.

I think he was drafting to a role he needed filled that year. With pressure on to get XL if possible. WR coaching background tells me maybe he knew where they should be ranked. McMillan will be his best work.

I barely watched and had no idea why DJ was getting that many snaps. Very odd if the rookies were healthy
