Dalton looked better in limited action... So...

Front office went out of their way three offseasons in a row to assure there would be no one for Bryce Young to look over his shoulder in the QB room. Just a best friend and a UDFA that isn't even practice squad worthy. And said best friend is pushing 40 and has been responsible for the most impressive passing games since 2023 and each game was with a different head coach and the same supporting cast. Yet for some reason some of these folks that want to carry water cannot understand why so very few share their POV 🤷‍♂️

People here seem to forget that Canales was hired because he’s a “QB whisperer” and was supposed to fix Bryce. Benching him says Dave can’t do what he was hired to do and Tepper was wrong in hiring him. Bryce won’t be getting benched any time soon.

Canales can’t do that.  That’s already been answered.  We aren’t waiting on that question any longer.

It’s also not about fixing it’s about fit.  It’s why Geno was “fixed”.  It wasn’t Canales it was the O he went into.   Geno was a deep ball passer and went to a deep ball O.  It’s why Geno now sucks again.

Bryce doesn’t fit and Canales can’t fix that

Bro you’re acting like we have legitimate competition waiting on the bench.  It makes zero sense you’re delusional

Literally

We gain absolutely nothing from starting Dalton. Who looked like ass in the preseason against 2’s

Given where this roster is overall, coaching staff and team it actually makes sense to give Young this year and next while he’s still on his rookie deal. This team is going to suck next year too so no sense in setting up the next guy (if they choose to go that way) up to fail out of the gate like they did Young

Yeah it's not pooing the team after the win to be critical of the fact Bryce still hasn't shown enough to be a difference maker. He nearly lost the game in the first half and had to hang on to Dawdle going off and the defense holding on to eek the win.

Some decent throws sure but that's what you'd expect normal NFL QBs to do consistently, and Bryce is the opposite of said consistency.

Good to enjoy the win, it was a beautiful fight. But also fair to criticize one of our weak links whose first half performance nearly led this team to an insurmountable hole.

Sure we do.  We for the development of TMac, XL, Horn, Evans, etc all in play as well as getting the O scheme up and actually running (growing and becoming better).  All that gets delayed….which keeps us sucking longer and increases the odds of another house cleaning

Plenty to gain but not having a dude out there that can’t run these NFL offenses

This is when they are the most vocal because they are insecure.

lol.  I’ve never been more confident in a Panthers take than the one of Young’s lack of physical tools and the fact he doesn’t fit this scheme (and it can’t function properly with him)

you have 5 straight weeks to open up this season on top of his career telling you that

Not getting an upgrade at the backup qb position is one of the worst offseason moves they made this year

D&D missed the opportunity for all of that to be a good option available to them. Anyone brought in at this point would take some time to learn the offense before they were really an option going forward.

Its Young or Andy this year brother. You might as well buckle up and hang on. Its going to be a bumpy ride.

contributor in the winning of this game.

From a #1 overall pick with enormous hype and comparisons to hall of famers across different sports before the draft to in his third year after turning the ball over multiple times being praised for simply "contributing" at the end in a game which featured a historic outing from the running back we signed in free agency.

And from the same folks who dog on the other offensive players for not helping Bryce Young more every chance they get

    • Things like this happen everyday. We live in a social media driven society where loyalty is a foreign concept.
    • If you draft a guy who is healthy and has no concerns about that whatsoever and he goes out and tears his ACL in his first few games in the regular season on a physical play that's a freak accident. But when you trade up to draft an RB who is already rehabbing from a recent ACL tear and he spends the next several months continuing his rehab only to tear the same ACL again after less than a handful of regular season carries in a non contact circumstance that is no freak accident. That is a textbook example of why you do not do what we did. Particularly for what is now a plug and play position. And when you have the highest paid OL in the league over the next two years. None of that makes any logical sense. Legitimately it is and was some Scott Fitterer type foolishness. Now as for XL. The guy has not been committed to his craft. I think anyone with eyes on the situation can and would recognize that. However the warning signs were there. One season of legit production raw prospect that we knew would take time to develop etc. But Morgan and Bryce Young's own father were very high on him. I think in some capacity the reality of our limitation at QB is entering into the equation. Even TMac got a lot of flak over the course of his rookie season for not being able to haul in all of Bryce's passes. At the end of the day our fourth year QB also needs to do his part to maximize the talent we have available. As far as this year. Again. WR round 1 boils down to where are we going to get the touches for the rookie? That would require eating into not only our 8th overall picks touches but also our #2 WR whom oh yeah by the way was UNDRAFTED. I am happy to discuss WR prospects here. I was thrilled we invested what we did last year in TMac because it needed to be done and it made sense from all angles. But nowhere is it written in stone that you cannot draft a good or great WR outside of the first round. Except in the Panthers building apparently. That is not a good reflection on our scouts and front office let me tell ya. Because there's no way on this earth we are going to get back to relevancy and legitimate contender status if we can't pick some gems in the later rounds. Simple and plain.
