Any time we win, or he plays well (not saying he played well this game, I think he played a bit above average after the first quarter), they go out of their way to make these posts.  Its like they get nervous that fans are going to start thinking Bryce isnt the problem and that will somehow affect what the Panthers do personel wise.

Sherlock Holmes in the house. No poo. I have no problem admitting that. The threat is real.

Your close.   See last year.  It’s nerves the front office will see a really bad QB improve and still be bad……and we waste EVERYONES time next year.  Just like we are doing this year.  Make no mistake.  This is a lost and pointless year because of last years error

We’re stuck with Bryce for now.  He led TWO drives where we came from behind to take the lead. One of them was the winning drive and he threw the winning TD. Taken as a whole…he played at expectation after the 1st quarter. That’s not so bad under the circumstances.  We got the win. Maybe they’ll struggle to build on it but a win is a win. He drove the offense down and took the lead when it was needed. You can’t take that away from him.

We’re not changing QBs anytime soon.  Or owners.  So…when they win, we should take it at face value and give credit where it’s due.  Bryce came up big in clutch moments. You can’t take that away from him.

I saw someone on Twitter say he just doesn’t have the body to generate passes to make tight throws. If a qb can’t do that in the nfl, they won’t last. Most throws are tight throws and not every one is going to be wide open every play.

I’m not saying Bryce is great. But… wasn’t there an impressive stat last year regarding his tight window throw success rate?

as a panther fan i dread what we all know is gonna happen.  every panthers win no matter how the wins come despite horrific qb play will make the panther front office think byoung is something he is not.  they will lock him up long term and we will be stuck watching crap qb play and going no where for the next however many years until they finally admit failure and move on.

As has been clear with almost all draft picks, this board has no impact on personnel decisions the Panthers make.

This board? Yeah no influence. But I don’t believe that is entirely true of the overall fan base.
Fan opinion in the stadium and around town on signs or whatever has impacted the status of coaches. It could do the same for a player.

Basically to me the opinions of fans are a barometer for what might be in the owner’s mind. I am very gun shy.

Oh and anyone  pooing this thread  is just so overly invested is been “right” about Bryce they are putting THAT over the Panthers actually becoming a competitive, winning, and getting on track to be a well run team.

it’s just absurd at this point what this team is having to work around.  There is no longer a debate about Bryce and what he is and isn’t

I mean its the same thing every time we have an obviously poo player or coach.

In a response to your OP one of them was "well he didn't give up"
LOL this is the NFL not peewee you don't get credit literally at all for simply not giving up like this is what its like to be in the running for worst sports franchise when people are giving you the but they didn't give ups like its elementary school coaching. Its pretty funny tbh

Maybe this is the fanbase that deserves this team, talkin bout didn't give up just seriously laughing so hard rn.

It's why I'm done as long as he's the QB. I've seen enough to know he sucks. He's always going to suck. But somehow when we're down he'll do just enough to get the Panthers to keep clinging to the hope that he'll turn it around. We're fuged as long as we're stuck in this quagmire and I'm over it.

Yeah some convoluted value system they concocted and named ‘big time throws’. Maybe that is what you are referring to?

I couldn’t really make it make sense to me on a level where I would use that to assign value, over my eyes.

    • Maybe it's because I played LT until some fat fug folded my knee, but I love watching footwork drills at the combine for olinemen. I call it fat man ballet. Base and balance are everything when it come to being a lineman. Everything starts there. Sure there's lateral movement, hip flex, bend, hand fighting, strength, push, etc, but without a strong base and good balance, the rest aren't happening. Those drills are specifically designed to show you things and they stand out big time if you're watching their feet and ankles. You can tell what doesn't feel like a natural movement. I remember watching Greg Little and I was blown away at how bad his footwork was. Like unbelievably bad. To the point I thought maybe he had never practiced one of these drills before. I remember when we drafted him, I thought to myself well fug, there's a wasted pick.  Aside from the added weight, I wonder if that's part of why Bryce didn't throw. Standing next to all the other QBs, that footwork and mechanics would stand out like a sore thumb, much more so than at a pro day. Bryce is good at some things, improvising and eluding and he does appear to have that clutch gene, but his throws get ugly when he tries to arm it instead of having that solid stead base to throw from.
    • He could be 6-9 and he would still suck with the issues he has.
