Just for another perspective….when people talk about my parents, both gone, I like talking about them. The hole never goes away but talking about them helps me. I know it isn’t the same for everyone. 
 

I liked XL saying ‘if I just play my game….” because that is exactly how he needs to approach it. Don’t try to be what he isn’t. I think he was caught up in that a little this season. 
 

PS Sunday is 4 years since my mom passed. She loved football and I will feel like she is watching with me. 
She told me when she was younger she danced with Johnny U one time. Lol. Wonder if my dad was there.

Honest question as I don’t know. Do journalists usually know these kind of things? Like for example you have a list of questions you’d ask and if you’re going to ask about family do you research them first? This really doesn’t seem like he did anything wrong but maybe journalists are expected to know these things

It was unintentional but there's no reason David Newton can't do a little basic research beforehand on who he's interviewing. And XL is now in his second season so it's even more inexcusable.

Newton wrote about it last year so he knew at one time.  I'm sure he forgot, but honestly he just doesn't seem to care to know enough about this team.  He posted online we will be without RG Taylor Moton this Sunday.

I should say don’t take my post as defending Newton’s cluelessness. No fan of his and no fan of modern ESPN/Disney. 

Said it before but I think XL needs some advising on his media interaction. maybe the team ought to give him an interpreter lol. Speak through him like the Latinos do in baseball.

His job is to cover the Panthers. It's not surprising he didn't know because he sucks at his job but he should've known.
