Trade Chuba?

If you were going to trade one you'd trade Rico. If we trade Chuba we'd have a big dead money hit and potentially have no running back next year. That said we need to use them like Detroit does Gibbs and Montgomery

This

Chuba isn't getting traded, but Rico very well could be in a few weeks if he keeps playing well in a tandem backfield with Chuba also playing well.

I think we'd end up going with a two headed monster in that case, but with Rico being on a one year deal, it does open up the possibility of a contending team offering up a decent pick for him.  Depending on the recovery of Hampton, I could see someone like the Chargers giving us a 4th for him if they think he could put them over the top, he would fit nicely in a Harbaugh system I think.

If it comes to that, we need to make that trade, as I can't see any way we re-sign Rico with all our other needs and getting Brooks back too.  And he's not going to get a contract big enough to get us any comp picks in return, especially if/when we sign a FA or two ourselves.  So if we're not going to bring him back, the prudent decision would really be to get a draft pick for him at the deadline.

Only way I see us trading him would be if we lose the next 3. Even at 4-5 you can trade a big offensive piece with a chance at the playoffs

I'm not absolutely certain it's "south" if Coker is healthy.

Legette may be "south" but if Coker returns to form and Tremayne continues to develop, who knows?

Well, we started with thinking we had AT, Tmac, XL, Coker, and Renfrow as our guys.

Thielen got traded.  XL has been a disappointment.  Coker got hurt.  Renfrow has been pretty invisible.

I still think we are better than usual.  Just saying we took a hit in perception from the casual fan.

I'm open to it. Depends on the compensation. If someone offers a three, are you really going to turn it down? Keep in mind Etienne and, if we're lucky, JB. We'd need more depth though. And, no, Dowdle would not get Chuba money from me. We overpaid. Especially in light of the fact that we keep adding RBs . But we'd have to sign Dowdle to a reasonable contract. Sometimes I don't know what the point of paying Chuba all that money was, and I have full square been arguably Chuba's biggest supporter on this board. I always knew that he could produce good results with a line because he was producing OK results without one.

I wouldn't call Renfrow "invisible". He's made some plays that we badly needed, like just this past weekend 😕

People have suggested he's playing a role similar to what Ricky Proehl gave us way back when.

I was talking about pre season hype vs now.  They were talking about him being the best route runner on the team and being unguardable.  Putting people in the blender.  He has had 1 catch the last two games, and before that it was 2 per game.

I like Renfrow, but it seems him and Bryce are not on the same page.

As far as the OP. We're 6 games into the season. This isn't Madden. You let things play out because you never know what might happen.

Just like WR, you thin it out and then suffer an injury and you are scrambling.
Any RB could have run through some of those those holes though and maybe you don’t get the same xtra yards but you are getting yardage.
It is the pass catching they will miss the most.
