I think he was trying to mimic the Lions with Montgomery and Gibbs. They are just more of the exception to the rule and Brooks was too much of a gamble to be a Gibbs type player. The Lions also didn’t sign Montgomery and draft Gibbs until their offense was nearly set. It was more of a luxury take the offense to the next level type of deal. -
Let’s just hope the right Dave is calling the shots. Always a chance Tepper is meddling again. Hope not -
