"Stop overreacting. It's only one loss. The season isn't dead."

This is a rebuilding year (one of many in a row) but the only way to track if we are making progress is: are we beating the teams that we should beat. So far, yes.

Have we beaten a team or two that no one expected us to, so far, yes, twice. We trounced the Falcons and the Cowboys, both teams that while middling were supposed to be better than us.

Have we beaten a team that we have no right to think we'd beat? Nope. And yesterday was one of those. We got beaten by a completely better put together, coached and rostered team. Beat in all three phases. And it showed us a lot of what we need to work on. It also was the first one where we walked away broken badly. So many injuries, no idea how that line is going to hold up and I'm wondering whether Brown is going to an issue on the injury report for next week's game.

Still, we're at .500 at the rough midpoint of the season. Here of lates, that's rarified air. And we have winnable games down the road.

There are going to be some people already whining that we shouldn't win any more games because we need high draft picks. And that's a steaming pile of bullshit. Winning teams don't pick at the top of the draft. We've done it a lot and it got us nowhere. I want us to win games.

And someday, I want us to pick 32nd without having to trade back in for it. Top 10 draft picks are for losers.

did y'all seriously think playoffs this year? Nah blud. We just got back down to .500 after a loss. A dirty silver lining. I only expected 7 wins realistically for this year

Yeah, I was still on the 4-7 wins and have been the whole time.

I am just upset by the utter ineptitude that Canales displayed.

Panthers have played 3 teams with winning records

Jaguars - 26-10 loss (down 23-3 until a late game garbage time score)

Patriots - 42-13 loss (down 42-6 until a late game garbage time score)

Bills - 40-9 loss (down 40-3 until a late game garbage time score)

They toast bruh

The combined record of teams we've beaten: 9-21.

Some of y'all get fooled so easily.

I don't think anybody with a brain thought or thinks we are a legit super bowl contender this year.

I do LOVE the young core group that is forming. Part of the reason I defend Bryce Young is that if he is not good enough, we're going to waste a lot of this young talent we have anyway.

You don't go from 5-12 to super bowl contender in one offseason unless you get a major injury back or get an insane free agent haul. We currently can't hang with the best teams in the league.

We are also much closer than we were 365 days ago. Progress is good. There's still an outside shot at the playoffs, but I am really excited to see what Dan Morgan does with this offseason. Rico Dowdle a big decision. Jalen Coker, Brycen Tremaine, Cade Mays, Austin Corbett, Brady Christensen, Nick Scott and Christian Rozeboom are the guys we have to make decisions on. But this rebuild should be over next August. Or we have to do it again.

Improvements needed at pass rush and linebacker for sure.

Expecting us to win a super bowl this year is like expecting a kindergartener to do calculus. Is it possible? I guess so. but 99.9% shot it aint happening. We played like doo-doo against the bills, but that was definitely a penciled in loss from the day the schedule came out. Candidly though, if Bryce is ever going to be it, next year is the year we need to start being really good.

I’ve been pretty encouraged this season so far. We need to build talent and have enough of a base to build a winning culture with. Just keep drafting well and we will get there. I hope Canales/Young works out enough to at least move the roster in a better direction. Looking forward to seeing the next evolution.

This has become a 2 steps forward 1 step back team.

Last year we won 5 games, the d was historically bad, the offense was dysfunctional and lacked weapons.

This year we already have 4 wins, the d has improved- especially the run d, the offense has weapons. We have holes and qb is still a giant concern and this year has shown how important a good qb is to the whole team- see ravens, Bengals, vikings.

I do think a solid qb and another good draft will completely improve this team. And it won't take 7 years like rhule. Just 3?
