Yea I dont think it's feasible with Bryce. Oddly similar to Cam's strength after his shoulder issue. I think we can work around it as it just is what it is at this point though.

We'll 100% never see Bryce throw a PJ Walker type Hail Mary.

But we can sustain 20's (anything in the 20's)... maybe mid 30's. Anything after that, we might as well kneel.

Sidenote: Canales needs a Darnold-esque qb tbh.. closest we'll see of that is probably Dalton's Raiders game last season.

If I remember it was Greg Cossell who said that before the Bills game insinuating they would play better with Dalton lol

If hadn't just crested the hill we likely would have. As bad as Dalton was he still had 75 more yards and a 70 vs 48 passer rating along wity 67 vs 55 completion percentage 😆

Ideally we’d have a QB with a missile. You play the exact same way, but with 3-5 true deep shots per game. Defense still isn’t good enough for track meets.

That's the modern NFL offense. The majority of the passing game is quick hitters but with enough deep shots mixed in to keep the D honest.

Y’all don’t understand football and weather. The interception got hung in the wind, it’s was a 20+ yard pass into the wind (same as Love’s Int.). So any passes this game needed to be less than 20 yds. We adjusted to that quick. The quick short passes is what helped us win.

hell of a coaching call. Our coaches were on their A game.

We adjusted with the coin toss. Otherwise, I would say the weather suited our style of football and hindered theirs. Factors came together in our favor for that day.

I will add "perfect weather" to the list of things bryce needs to have a good game

I honestly think it’s the coaching. Look how many plays we did short passes and screens. Also I don’t know how many times I’ve seen Bryce throw a deep ball and the WR drop it, as well as a few pass interference penalties and no calls that would have been at least 20 yards.

before anyone says Bryce can’t throw the deep ball, explain what he did at Alabama? He can throw a ball deep. Why do you think he was a first pick and top qb prospect?

also if you look at how many pass attempts Bryce is getting, it’s not a lot. It’s hard to get over 200 yards passing when you are barely throwing the ball 20 times a game.

I also think we are very successful at running the ball and taking time off the clock so we don’t need to pass. Our defense isn’t the best so why expose them? Keep them off the field as long as possible.

I would actually like to know how many times he has thrown a deep ball and had it dropped.  Anyone?

I would also like to know why he was the 1st pick. Because I never had a clue.

    • And once again I showed you it’s been pretty even. We spent 2nd and 3rd rounders this past draft on edge rushers. No one’s going to sit here and do the math on a draft value chart etc. the only reason I even entertained this was because you said we’ve spent nothing on defense when that simply isn’t true. It also didn’t help we traded our ONLY WR worth a damn to trade up for Bryce soo… And this is kind of the issue with the anti Bryce crowd. This crowd tends to blame him for the trade up. I was team Stroud. Had the panthers not taken Young the only other QB they were going to take was Richardson. So your issue should be with Tepper, Morgan, Fitterer not Bryce.  Bryce is who he is and it was pretty obvious who he was during the draft process. Bryce is slowly developing into that guy most thought he’d be. Give him a WR like Jamo and this offense as a whole would improve greatly.  Anyone thinking he was the next Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen is clearly slow. Bryce was always going to need pieces around him much like EVERY other QB Burrow has Chase and Higgins and they’ve done nothing. After losing in AFC Championship in 2022, Burrow is 17-15. QB’s need a team around them It’s why a Jalen Hurts led Eagles team dismantled a Pat Mahomes led KC team in the SB Imo the QB’s doing the most with the least up until this year have been Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson  This year it’s Drake Maye and Josh Allen  Outside of the 3-5 elite type QB’s I’m not really sure what people expect here. Is Bryce ever going to be in that elite category? Nope. Should we punt on Bryce and keep swinging? I don’t think so. Should we keep swinging while hanging onto Bryce? Yeah but I don’t know what that looks like This team as a whole isn’t very good. Offense and defense and that’s the simple truth
    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
