Canales Did Not Call a Terrible Game

He had bryce throw 25 yards, rico ran 18 times.  We can quabble about the design of his pass plays, but he passed at a correct clip BECAUSE from the start, saints STACKED the box.  Its not even about passes over 20 yards, its passes 5-10 yards, he couldnt even do that.  Multiple passes off target to T-mac.  YAC isnt a thing if your shotgun blasting passes around the field it is bad.  Ive given bryce more leeway than I should, needs to be just straight up cut.

Canales didn't call a terrible game but he continues to play Bryce, so at some point, he has to take flack for that.

It's impossible to judge a coach or an overall offense while this anchor of a QB is tied around their throat.

With how badly Bryce has been playing I don't think even Canales knows what plays he can safely call. I don't think it's by choice he's being so conservative but he's trying to call the game in a way where we at least won't be blown out and can try to steal the win in the 4th. 

Every time he tries to open the playbook Bryce takes a sack while looking for a passing lane to see the open WR or Bryce turns the football over.

the question i have is : did he tell Tepper he could fix him. If he did he is screwed. The benching last year  kinda says to me, he didn't guarntee it. But then did he commit to him based off his late season play last year; which in that case he is screwed again.

With the teams we have left to play its about to get ugly real fast. Today was a big game for Bryce in my eyes. It was his chance to have at least a solid game against a bad football team and keep the good vibes going into the Falcons game next week. All he did was prove what we already knew. He cannot be relied on to win football games. We might not win another game this season. Today was really fuging awful

Get Canales a top 20 QB in the league and this team would be really, really competitive. He's coaching with handcuffs on. Young's Linsanity run to end last year where he looked like a below average player rather than an all-time bust killed this year before it started.

Canales benched Bryce 2 games into the Canales era and Bryce was left for dead.   Morgan screwed it up by not dealing Bryce then.   Which was all the talk.   

Morgan is the one who allowed this nightmare for us not to get away from Bryce.  I can’t stand Tepper.  But Tepper is too often a scapegoat for his bad hires.  Morgan was a bad GM hire and he has kept us stuck to the problem he and Fitterer first created

I don't disagree with anything you have said but didn't Tepper hire Morgan? Anyway I am sure not trying to argue; as I am an old man I often don't quite get things. LOL

Yes, Tepper hires bad people.  They do bad things.  Which ultimately is why Tepper the core problem.  But he isn’t going anywhere.  So the only hope is to properly out when his hires do dumb things…..and Morgan has been very dumb with Bryce.  

only hope is Tepper by the law of averages lucks into a good hire

I wouldn’t be so sure. Bryce doesn’t fit the mold for Canales’ system at all. He inherited Bryce and can probably see his limitations on a daily basis. I am of the belief that Morgan and Canales will move off Bryce when they can.
