At least Clausen had a decent arm....

Also Wilson was clearly uncomfortable around black people which is a problem if you’re trying to be in the nfl at all, let alone play qb.

If your brothers and sisters look like this you need to get your ass transferred to LSU or something

If you wikipedia "caucasian", this pic is embedded in the article.

Clausen was another guy that just played with superior talent his entire life so it didn't matter how good he was.  He didn't have a good arm but he also just sucked on the mental aspect.

I still remember writing an angry email to some Panthers email in 2010 about how awful the team was. Jerry fuging Richardson called me lol (along with a few others that had done the same). He blamed it all on Fox hahaah

i wrote an email to the panthers back and JR actually mailed me something back lol

Got to give im credit no owner would do that lmao

I'm not sure.  I remember Clausen being worse than Young but when I look at Clausens highlight reel on Youtube he's clearly making throws downfield off of his back foot that Young simply can't - unless he's running forward to launch it.

But yeah Clausen didn't belong on the field whereas Young will occasionally climb the pocket and deliver a strike.

try not to cry, cry a lot

I guess what would be considered "fair?"

Honestly, probably anything past the 2nd round is a stretch.

Your criteria was who drafted worse QBs than Weinke/Clausen/Bryce. Weinke was a 4th round pick, so why is anything past the 2nd a stretch?

Yeah, that's what I mean. Weinke would probably have to be removed. Him stinking it up as a 4th rounder isn't really particularly abnormal.

Mighty Mouse has nothing to offer. Yes Clausen sucked, but he could heave it when needed. This chump can't throw it twenty yards. They somehow found a guy worse than Clausen with no arm....good job Tepper. He is your boy and your guy.

You had me at "Clausen could heave it when needed". The Clausen I watched had a weak and inaccurate arm.Whatever one thinks of Bryce Young, there is no way he is worse than Clausen was.

I can say with certainty that I endured an entire season of Clausen and never ever want to go through that again. In fairness to Clausen, he came into an impossible situation with a lame duck coach and an owner who deliberately gutted the team to save money for the upcoming lockout.

But man, oh, man. At least Bryce has had his fair share of moments. I can't recall a single positive play from Clausen at all. And that’s from someone that remembered this one play from Brian St Pierre, a third string journeyman. That's how much I want to not remember Clausen.

    • Damn I liked A'Shawn too. This is basically a heads up we're planning on cutting you move.  Robinson wasn't the best but I loved his attitude and effort on the field. He held that entire dline together when Brown went down iirc..granted we finished that season as the worst rushing defense in modern NFL history.  If Wharton would have performed up to atleast half of his salary last season, I'd feel a little better about it. We do need that cap space though.
    • 13. Carolina is coming. The Panthers are well thought of around the league. Their "process" seems sound. I think their off-season will be very interesting to keep an eye on. They made the playoffs, but they're not yet knocking on the door. (Offense was 26th in EPA/play.) I think it's imperative they don't overestimate where they are in their build. They can't throw a ton of money around in FA to "make a run now". They need to be intentional about building a solid foundation. (IMO) And from what I know about the team... I think they will be. Sidenote: I have my eye on offense there, not defense. They HAVE to leave next season with a strong opinion on Bryce Young. They need to put pieces around him to do that. Can't be left wondering what he would have looked like with "better OL play" or "more pass catchers". They have to know. (That part is purely my opinion. No one told me that.) https://x.com/lindsay_rhodes/status/2027212533417869499?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA
    • Because this DL is completely reliant on Brown being available and being a stud. Without him we were the worst D in history. The Wharton signing last year reeked of desperation. He just isn't a great fit for us schematically and I think we panicked a little bit when we missed out on Milton Williams who would have been a great fit.
