Souring on Canales

Read that DC said that Bryce threw the ball great on Sunday and that XL was also doing well.

I hate when anyone blows smoke up my ass. This guy and is just a cheerleader and is trying to dupe all of us. Hiding behind this illusion isn’t going to work anymore. Be Alpha and not a Beta. Young is not an Alpha. DC has to grow a pair of balls and be an Alpha.

No more bullsh$t.

He is meh, functional meh. Could be worse but I'm not expecting much better. If he was handed a stacked team he would become the weakest link.

At least he is NFL meh. That's all the positivity I can scrape together for DC.

You can’t believe him, especially at the podium. I can think of 4 lies right off the bat.

1. Bryce is starter moving forward/Bryce benched next day.

2. When Andy is healthy, he will return as starter/ didn’t happen.

3. He prefers to run the ball on 2nd short. Literally throws the ball on 2nd and short the whole next game.

4. Whatever in the hell cover up went on with Bryce’s ankle/Andys thumb.

Maybe they aren’t flat out lies, but he is very misleading and changes direction a lot. His face during the press conferences just looks so condescending and annoyed. I think he just spouts off whatever gets him through it without making the locker room hate him.

I dont mind him being positive.. What bothers me is his action statement without action..

His mantra was to be like Pete Carrol. Bring in competition and let the best man play.

DC showed that he cannot do this.. look at Ricco and Hubbard. One was clearly playing better and yet he favored feelings over performance.

You can be a 'positive minded' coach and yet have high expectations.

Im not sure he wants a yes man necessarily. I think Canales said yes to some terms of employment most other coaches would balk.

i do think tepper is kind of a mark for people like Canales. Rhule had similar highschool guidance counselor energy.

I don’t know, if we can not have a season where we only win 1-3 games, even if we miss the playoffs and are 7-9 wins. This job looks more attractive, especially if we can do the same next year.

We also look more stable for Free Agents. More guys would be interested in coming here if we weren’t scraping the barrel every year.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
