The tide finally turns... Even Bryce nut huggers at PFF finally admit the obvious.

I mean there was another QB that absolutely looked the part and demonstrated his abilities in his first season. We'll see how he works out long term, but we had a solid option that passed the eye test.

I would never have traded up like that in the first place. But once that was done Stroud was the clear choice. If I were going to gamble like that, he was the horse.
I am not fond of gambling like that and would have missed him in the first place. Just pointing out the obvious.

I have never even watched Dart play and I hear the downsides. I am not pumping him per se. Point is he was close to an XL level investment and that is a massive difference in risk.

That is where I want to live as opposed to trying to move into the top two picks type of approach.
I know if we do this right we can upgrade without breaking everything else.

To be fair to the Panthers, Bryce was seen as the best QB in the draft by a lot of folks, not fans but commentators and many scouts etc... Alabama really fooled people, and OSU also was considered fools gold.

Yes they did but I don’t know what they were thinking.
If you are familiar with the term mass formation, it was almost like that. They took people’s brains over.
Lots of guys here looked and saw the same thing I did. I ain’t special

I challenge anyone to rationally explain it. Made no sense.

I thought he would have been decent too based off of what he did in college, but I started to sour on him at the combine. Went all downhill from there.

That's the thing. I think if you were objectively watching him play and not desperately clinging to a narrative you kinda knew how his NFL career was gonna go based on his college play. All the lack of physical tools was evident. The stylistic issues of immediately backpedaling 10 yards behind the LOS and standing square to the field waiting on one of your future All-Pro WRs to break open while future NFLers blocked for you to then try to flip your hips and get in position to throw a wobbly wounded duck that your receiver would adjust to... none of that poo was ever gonna work in the NFL.

Of all the highly drafted QBs in recent years he was THE one that I was just like "yeah, I don't see any chance". Most of the early reaches the guy at least has top tier physical tools even if he has a ten cent head.

Just curious how many conversations you’ve had about banning op or is it just people whose opinions you generally disagree with like Icege. You seem more than happy to agree with trolling and dead threading when it aligns with your opinions. OPs post history is 10x worse than people you’ve banned or talked about banning.

On the topic of Bryce Young, heading into the season a lot of people wanted to see is Bryce Young the guy moving forward, or isn’t he? I think the question has been answered in that he is not. That’s actually worse for the Panthers than if he built on his performances at the end of last season and became the guy, but you wouldn’t know that by how some here are acting. Pretty well confirms that some on this board would rather be right about an opinion that would be bad for the team, than watch the team succeed. Weird how OP only shows up once a year after the QB and Panthers absolute worst performances…

My friend of over 20 years (so he's been with me for some major life events!) constantly reminds me that he's never seen me as angry as when we drafted Young - and I'd told him pre-Draft that we were going to make that mistake, so it wasn't even surprise fuelling that rage.

It was all over his College tape.

It's impressive to be this confidently dead ass wrong.
