So, after Sunday's game does that mean we're stuck with Bryce for the foreseeable future?

You asked me a couple of weeks ago would I pick up his 5th year option.  I didn't answer because I wasn't sure.  He would have to really ball out these last 7 games.  If he can manage to get us to 8 or 9 wins, I would say yes, they will pick up his option.

I read where we have the most difficult remaining schedule.

I don't want almost wins like we had last year against KC and Philly, I want wins.  We are going to have to beat TB at least once and beat at least one of the NFC-W teams.

The Rams are going to come to play.  They are in a dogfight for the #1 seed.  San Fran has all sorts of defensive problems but the monday night thing cross country is going to be tough.   If by some grace of God we win the division then you have a decision to make.   But no matter what happens you gotta cut daltons ass.  that should be done 10 seconds into the off season.  Period full stop.

7 more games like Sunday and I'll start to believe.

You really don’t. Good teams don’t tie themselves to players for wining an arbitrary number of games.

the ravens cut their qb in 2000 after winning the Super Bowl. The Bucs did the same thing after losing the nfc championship. Packers shipped Rodgers ass out of town the first chance they got. Winston threw 30 TDs and like 7k yards and he was replaced. Seahawks let geno walk and replaced him and one of the best offenses in the league (nervous laughter). Rams went to the Super Bowl with Goff and shipped him out

good team are constantly trying to improve. The number of wins this panthers team ends with is irrelevant.

The most obvious example of a team bailing on a qb(s) for what they thought was an improvement is of course Bryce

No I agree but the fallout from the media would be crazy.  I think if he wins the division you will see all sorts of media folks try and guilt trip the team to extend him.  Ive been on Teams all morning and havent had a chance to get my daily comedy in from mac and bone yet but I can only imagine the dick sucking they have done today

This game really cemented to me that he can’t get the ball to the sideline which is supposed to be the throw that distinguishes the nfl players from college.

End of the third he threw one to his right that the db got a late jump on but would have housed. He stares the receiver down the whole way.

I don’t know if you could see it on tv but Bruce immediately started sprinting to the receiver after the throw because he knew it as either picked or the guy was getting lit up.

fortunately the falcons

I hope not. I'll probably get around to watching the game tomorrow night but based on this highlight reel I didn't learn anything new. Notice on almost every throw in this highlight there's a clean field in front of him with plenty of room to step up and nothing obscuring his vision. We already knew Bryce can play well in those scenarios. I've said over and over that given great protection, a throwing lane, and room to step up and through his throwing motion Bryce can make most of the throws. The issues arise when he starts getting pressure in his face. Bryce had a great game and deserves credit for that but in terms of evaluating the position moving forward we need to see that type of play down the stretch in scenarios that don't play to his strengths. Seems like yesterday's game played out in a way that largely allowed him to play to his strengths and the NFL is really good at putting you in situations where you're uncomfortable.

I dont think we can say that after 1 game. He needs to have atleast 3 games with 200+ yds and 2 tds for me to say he is getting there. He does seem to turn it up later in the season which is good for him but we need more out of him for me to say he is the future

NFL=Not for Long.  We will see, Kyle Allen had a super hot stretch with us, remember him compared to brady.  Does he finish the season well.  I do think as long as he doesnt completely implode (which...sadly with his past play is possible) hes guaranteed the 5th year option, but thats all that I can say at this point.

kyle allen and matt moore both played better for the panthers than byoung has but I agree with the postet the panthers with tepper probably lock young up for 3 more years top ten qb money

The final 6 games this season should determine his future with the team. If he plays like he played against the Falcons against any of the playoff contending teams on the schedule, that's a positive sign. If he's posting sub 200 yard mutliple turnover games, especially if it's in all of the games, we have a problem
