Can anyone answer if the medical team who worked on his ACL are the same group that fixed Thomas Davis. Did a great job on his tear using a different operation that Brooks had done and he came back a beast after 3 tears. Brooks will be 24 next season and had lots of potential.

How will this effect Dowdle and Chuba next year? Will they try and keep both of them and let Brooks walk? Or take another chance on the rookie?

Opinions?

I feel like TD is the rare exception to someone suffering 3 ACL injuries and somehow coming back to be a dominant player for years afterwards.

Probably not looking good for Brooks being a contributor. ACL injuries for a RB, where you constantly have to plant and be a 1-cut RB, makes it even more unlikely

I'm also worried about the long time off of football.  In his limited snaps with the team, he had some spark.

I'd love for him to pan out, but I'm also not pretending it's a certainty one way or another.  He'll have next spring to show that he belongs or not.  He's 22, 23 in July.  He's still a kid.  I think you have to give him a shot this spring in camp.  Maybe he makes the roster, maybe he doesn't.

He's such a nice kid, I'm rooting for him.

Best to just forget about Brooks IMO.  At least in terms of real planning.  If we get something out of the pick at this point it’s a nice surprise.  No way you can pencil him in as anything

Yeah, from a team building perspective, he is a very minor factor in the future plans.

From a human perspective, you certainly hope he eventually gets his career started, even if it isn't with us.

IIRC, he is the only NFL player to ever do so. Or at least he was.

I forgot he was on the team and I'm pulling for him, but the statistics are not in his favor.  Some guys can recover from injuries and others cannot and let's hope Brooks is the former.  He was a beast in high school and college.

I truly do not understand why we rushed him back last season, we were a bad team with an already productive back in Chuba. Brooks looked like he was 60% back and clearly hadn’t regained full movement in his knee and confidence, no surprise he got reinjured. Shame on this training staff, look no further then Chuba returning too soon this season, I don’t care how bad a player wants to come back a training staff is there to protect them. Brooks is a great person and was an amazing player prior to both injuries, I hope he’s recovering well.

It's hard to lay blame. We never know the full details.

Either way, no point in blame now. The damage is done.

Honestly I think Etienne is going to be our future Rb. Hes good at everything and has little wear and tear. Brooks is not only basically a rookie but also hasn’t played in 2 years which requires him to get into shape. I think there’s hope for him but the odds are low.
