How many Qbs can you name better than Bryce Young?

What games featured a good 60 minutes of Bryce Young?  I mean, if Bryce didn't come out after the half vs Atlanta let say because he was too hurt......he probably is benched without that 2nd half in Atlanta.

I don’t know about that. He had 130 yards in the first half. And I am giving him 4 quarters. It is okay to give him some credit when he doesn’t totally suck.

now, is that who he is? History says no. History says he is mostly bad, and unable to sustain a higher level of play when he manages to achieve it.

About the highest you will find him ranked is around 20th. Bottom third like his stats suggest

To the Bryce fans, 1 good statistical game here and there doesn’t really say much at all about the quality of a QB. Exhibit A:

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Flynn_(American_football)#NFL_career_statistics

Bryce’s stats, which aren’t remotely good, don’t tell the full picture. As average as his overall stats are, they still make him look more favorable than the eye test. He makes bad decisions, has poor and inconsistent accuracy, takes bad sacks, and has no deep throw arm for defenses to plan for. Our offense is significantly hindered with him at QB. There are some bad QBs out there, and Bryce is no longer obviously the absolute worst QB in the league like he was his first 20ish games. But he’s still clearly in that bottom tier and not a top 20 QB. He’s 27th in passer rating this year, not a perfect measurement but that sounds about right.

I think Bryce is around 20 right now.

But there are some in that 10-20 range that I wouldn’t take over Bryce going forward. Guys like Jalen Hurts, Bo Nix, Jaiden Daniels are all playing in college style offenses cause their coaches know they can’t handle being under center or making full field reads, you put Hurts in Canales offense and his numbers would look like Justin Fields. Bo Nix is the ultimate screen merchant, and I’ve never seen Daniel’s play in a real NFL offense.

    • That might balance out because apparently the Texans O-line is ass. He did manage to throw for almost 300 yards the last two weeks though.
    • Don't forget that Rhule actually took Tepper's offer to the Giants and they balked. He was just seeking the big payday which should have been a red flag. I have no idea how much time Tepper spends within the Panthers building. I do know that he in the past has been too much involved. He supposedly held weekly meetings with Reich. Then after firing Reich Tepper he held a press conference where he did virtually all the talking and made it about himself. Before that Tepper went out of his way to bloviate to the press about how he spoke to Bryce Young months before the draft and directly told him he wanted him to be a Panther. Then he went to the well of his selling point about Bryce being a point guard and we wouldn't need to invest in elite weapons. The guy thinks and talks like he knows what he's doing. At the end of the day the franchise has been in the gutter in large part due to he and his wife's involvement. It is what it is. Appreciate the convo.
    • Unlike most of you, I do not assume the FO thinks he is beyond repair.  For the first time since 2017 the Panthers have a chance to be in the playoffs. One more game will tie them for the most wins since 2018, 2 more wins will put them at 8 wins - the most in 8 years.  Hate all you want but a big part of that success has come from Bryce. He got them in the hole with Miami but he got them out of it as well and was a big part of that win. Against Dallas, he played very well throughout the game plus he converted on a 4th down in the final minutes putting them in FG range for the win. He may not have had a good game against the Packers but he did convert on two 3rd down conversions in the final minutes to help seal the win and of course the Falcons game was his best yet. Tepper likes him and they have a huge investment in him as well. You don't just throw that away unless you have something concrete lined up behind him - which I just don't see.
