You can't blame Tepper for not getting Ben Johnson. He wanted him but Johnson chose to not take a HC job that cycle.

Tepper is to blame for a lot, but that's not on him.

I did NOT want young. I was 50/50 on Johnson and still am kinda. He has a really talented roster. He should be 9-3 with the skill they have. The previous coaches were just idiots. Johnson comes across as one of those guys that can lose composure and the locker room fast. Kinda like Jonathan Gannon. Smart guy, seems to doing well so far.

Ben Johnson appears to be a massive prick.  I would question how things would go in rough times with him because I’m sure he becomes an even bigger one then

Yep. He actively avoided us and other bad situations to wait and find a situation that set him up for success. 

He is a very shrewd guy doing so.
