Rams were theoretically licking their chops at our depleted defense last week.....and turned the ball over 3 times.

I mean, it still a good thing.  Sometimes it takes a week or so for the weak links to really show what makes them so weak.  And sometimes, Derrick Brown is just there and any downgrade is hopefully a problem

Yep. Football can be a crazy game. If you're on an NFL roster you have the ability to play well if the stars align, especially if your opponent is overlooking you. That third stringer was probably all state in HS and all conference in college. You would've had that game circled on the calendar to face him back in those days and ain't nothing changed now. He's still him.

Well without those turnovers the game would have been just as bad if not worse than the Bucs game. Our defense could not stop anything and was getting completely destroyed.
Rams, like the Packers, beat themselves.

yeah, I think despite the turnovers, the Rams own one of those quirky efficiency offensive stats of having the top 3 of 4 best outings and vs the Panthers ranks because we were a wet paper bag defense......with sort of 3 random takeaways.

Say what you want, those turnovers weren't flukes though. Great read by Jackson on the pick 6 and great individual plays by DB on the batted ball INT and strip sack. The Rams are good enough to consistently move that ball against the very best defenses, so of course they are going to be able to move the ball at will with over half of our defense being backups to the backups...

And our offense played a great game. The Packers game was definitely a GB shooting themselves in the foot type of loss for them. I don't think the Rams game was the same - we executed well on offense and came up with the timely turnovers we needed on defense.

Wriffs is hurt some too, he missed last game....but he's an animal and I expect him to be on the field for the remaining games....

Panthers have had more than normal injuries, especially at OL....... the stat is 10th different OL starters in 13 games....Goodwin and Gilbert deserves main props for keeping the standard high. I know in past years, nearly all Panthers OL were not able to have just one injury without the whole group floundering.

    • People really need to stop placing Dan Morgan on some kind of infallible pedestal. He is absolutely in lockstop with Tepper regarding Bryce and has been all along. As far as the team being okay with 185 passing yards per game. We better have a proven monster RB in our backfield then. Presently that guy is not on the roster. Chuba has one outlier season so far and the other guys have proven nothing. Not what you would call a great recipe. The only thing we can hope at this juncture is that the highest paid OL in the league for the second year in a row elevates their play from last season and opens up some massive holes even our RB's can get through. But it still doesn't resolve the issue of predictability. With no viable passing game it is much easier to shut down any run game. No defenses are scared of Bryce's arm. It is what it is.
    • i lived in Atlanta from 84'to 92' & back then it was indeed a very different time without the internet & access to information 24/7. shortly after i moved back home to western NC around 93' or 94' the Carolina Panthers were awarded an NfL franchise & began their inaugural season in 95' so ike you i have seen the Carolina Panthers, ,the NFL ,technology, fans all evolve over the many a moon & years now some for the better & others not so ...just saying
    • I wouldn't even bet on us winning the NFC South. All four teams had excellent Drafts.
