Canales and Darnold

I'm much less concerned about missing on Darnold as I am Mike Macdonald. The guy has that franchise humming from top to bottom. Disgusts me. Seahawks fans have it made. Meanwhile we're over here consistently disappointing any time there are even remotely upward expectations.

Maybe, but he is 12-3.

yea....Minnesota fell off the map this year after going 14-3 with Darnold...bet they wish he was back... and his record looks good this year...maybe he figured it out.... he does get the tight azz in big games still.

Vikings D was top 5 in points allowed in 2024.  #1 in takeaways.

Seahawks D are top 5 in points allowed game in 2025.  #6 in takeaways.

Sam Darnold is Sam Darnold.   Sometimes he is paired with great defensive play, a great WR and solid overall teams.   But Sam is Sam.  All you have to do is watch him.  Like last night.

Vikings offense was 9th in scoring in 2024 and 25th this year. Seattle went from 18th last year to 3rd. It goes both ways. Darnold has done very well. He’s got 8000 yards, 66%+ completion and 59 TDs in 2 years with 2 games left.

He’s contributed a lot. Ask Justin Jefferson if he misses Darnold and ask JSN if he’s happy with Darnold. I’d love to have Darnold.

This place really is something.   The team has shown year to year growth both years Dave has been here and half of the people here can only ever talk about the negative.

Its all a lot of people on here know how to do. If they can't see the improvements Canales has made to this organization, that no other coach could, then they are just blind haters with no facts to support their arguments.

The Sam Darnold fanbois are so hilarious. It's no wonder we also have a contingent that still believes in Bryce. A significant chunk of our fanbase has no idea what a good QB even looks like.

Well I was a Darnold and I think you know what I have thought about Bryce since before we even drafted him.
You can’t blanket statement this poo.
But my standards start at tools/size. I am lenient when I see potential.
Anyone that can watch our team for 8 years and be glad we do not have Darnold because he probably would choke in the SB or the NFCCG has eaten some real sour grapes.

to me the post would suggest Sam Darnold was good last night because Seattle won in a wild game.   Which is what we do with Bryce Young.

Sam Darnold didn't play well last night.  Which is how he trends, goes to a new team.....looks okay and becomes classic Sam Darnold down the stretch.  Last 6 or 7 weeks old bad Sam is coming out a lot (and then a weird Atlanta game mixed in lol).

We need to hope this scenario plays our next week

he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me

They most certainly did.  If we had put as much time in Sam and we have Bryce, where would we be now?

Depends, if we would have hired Wilkes and kept darnold were probably be right about where we are now. An average team fighting for a winning record and nfcs crown

    • And once again I showed you it’s been pretty even. We spent 2nd and 3rd rounders this past draft on edge rushers. No one’s going to sit here and do the math on a draft value chart etc. the only reason I even entertained this was because you said we’ve spent nothing on defense when that simply isn’t true. It also didn’t help we traded our ONLY WR worth a damn to trade up for Bryce soo… And this is kind of the issue with the anti Bryce crowd. This crowd tends to blame him for the trade up. I was team Stroud. Had the panthers not taken Young the only other QB they were going to take was Richardson. So your issue should be with Tepper, Morgan, Fitterer not Bryce.  Bryce is who he is and it was pretty obvious who he was during the draft process. Bryce is slowly developing into that guy most thought he’d be. Give him a WR like Jamo and this offense as a whole would improve greatly.  Anyone thinking he was the next Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen is clearly slow. Bryce was always going to need pieces around him much like EVERY other QB Burrow has Chase and Higgins and they’ve done nothing. After losing in AFC Championship in 2022, Burrow is 17-15. QB’s need a team around them It’s why a Jalen Hurts led Eagles team dismantled a Pat Mahomes led KC team in the SB Imo the QB’s doing the most with the least up until this year have been Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson  This year it’s Drake Maye and Josh Allen  Outside of the 3-5 elite type QB’s I’m not really sure what people expect here. Is Bryce ever going to be in that elite category? Nope. Should we punt on Bryce and keep swinging? I don’t think so. Should we keep swinging while hanging onto Bryce? Yeah but I don’t know what that looks like This team as a whole isn’t very good. Offense and defense and that’s the simple truth
    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
