I don't know what the eff Dave Canales was thinking

Canales has done an excellent job of rebuilding the culture and the morale of the team.

For that I give him an A+.

But he's like a C- on game day

This, and your too generous on the C-

Canales basically ask Bryce to make 2-3 throws per game…..and outside of that he is playing safe conservative football.  It’s been the formula the past several weeks…..and it largely means games are going to be close.  Went our way today.   Same formula went the other way vs the Saints

He's thinking "I have a limited offense with a QB who can rarely flirt with 200 yds passing and have a narrow path to victory ."

I was there watching it up close and the things we all are bitching about stem from the coach not following the flow of the game. He needs to decide whether he wants to be a head coach or an offensive coordinator. He struggles trying to do both. We could have won this game by double digits.

7-2 in one score games.   Its awesome now but not sustainable but let's enjoy it in the moment

I used to think that. Not buying it now that I was close enough to look them in the eyes.

Reminds me of Wilks with Darnold to a degree.

He took the pedal off the gas at exactly the wrong time during the drive. Why in the holy fvck would you call to weak-ass runs and not give an earnest attempt to move chains for first downs? I mean, you saw it didn't work one time, and then you call another one. That's just weak. The season is on the line, well-above the two minute warning, and he's calling plays like we're playing for a game-winning field goal. Weakness eptiomized! It's not fitting of a first-class head coach in the NFL.

Dave really struggles after the first series and coaching with a lead or in this case a chance to end the game with the ball

As much as it’s not good for sanity during the game it’s honestly better we’re constantly playing catch up. Canales opens it up a bit more and it allows Bryce to get into rhythm which is when he’s at his absolute best

I thought he called a pretty good game overall. The two biggest drive killers was XL's drop and the empty set DC called after Bryce got up gingerly from that second quarter sack.

I feared Young was hurt to the point he couldn’t finish the game. He was working on the sideline trying to test his plant foot. It looked questionable there for a while.

Id like to know the things you saw mate?

I saw a coach almost lose the game. I hope Evero clears out his office as soon as the season is over. Canales needs someone to focus on what’s going on on the field and tell him when to forget about his damn script. He is so focused on getting certain players involved that he forgets that he can run the ball on a light box. The players we starting to get irritated with that poo too. But what I noticed most was they haven’t quit yet. But we do need to send a few packing after the season.

This isn't a pass first offense and when we try that it turns ugly. Bryce Young had the chance to convert an easy first down to his hot route and he immediately bailed on the pocket putting himself in an awkward position which is what the Bucs wanted.

BY isn’t his QB and it still feels like the league is pass happy/friendly. I assume he will call the games true to himself and insist on his own guy eventually.
