The problem with Horn is he doesn't have good instincts as a runner.  Its hard to be a YAC guy when you take bad angles and run into tacklers.

a lot of really small guys really need to have that punt returner mindset/ability.

I still think his size (not height) is going to limit him. If XL is out (which I think he should be in terms of planning).....we need more speed than Horn.  Not write off Horn or even dissing him.

But Moore, XL, Renfrow, etc need to go and we need speed in their place.  We got the bigs in Tmac/Coker/Tremayne.

Yeah, his athleticism measurable just don't show up on the field. No vision, no suddenness, no instincts, goes down easily. Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. The guy owes every NFL dime he's gonna make to getting gifted an extra year of college play. At this point I'd probably bet on him not making g next year's final roster and maybe bouncing around a couple of practice squads for a year or two and put ofnthe league. I hope he's being smart with his money.

Even more than Bryce, our second rounders (and who we've passed on) has stung soooooo much.

2022: *traded away for Darnold (2nd, 4th & 6th - great job Fitt) - all-timer 2nd round class- Brisker, Pickens, Trey McBride, Mafe, Bonitto, Kyler Gordon, James Cook, KWIII, Wandale, it goes on...

2023: Mingo- Passed on: Tuli (oy vey), Brents, Branch, Benton, Rashee Rice, *traded away our other 2nd that ended up being Tyrique Stevenson.  O-Torrence, DJ Turner, & Brenton Strange right there as well.

2024: *traded away/up for Legette in 1 lol - ahead of Ladd, Fiske, DeJean, Lassiter, Frazier, Edge Cooper...all guys who had big fans around and became studs very quickly  *traded up again to get the injured Brooks - over: Frazier again, Sainristil, Nubin, Rosengarten

I'm more convinced Legette is a bust than I was with Mingo at this point in his tenure.

He has no short area quickness, can't play against zone, you need to scheme him open with presnap movement.  Another guy where you have to hyper-fixate to create an offense FOR rather than create an aspiring offense WITH.

If only there were 4 years of college tape that showed absolutely zero production.

I'd start Coker or Moore over Legette at this point.

This has to be Dave’s move on Sunday.

There’s a way to communicate this to XL that his performance doesn’t merit him starting in the biggest game of the year, while still allowing him to get reps and earn his way.
Moore used to play in TB and is a more reliable target for Bryce. Truthfully, I think Horn has played as well as XL this year to earn some of his targets as well.

Legette will have one final season to prove his worth.
We currently miss a starting WR. We have 2 on the current roster. TMac and Coker.

Legette though has potential. We can’t say the same about any player on our LB room, edge room aside from Scourton, and TE room. We should gamble on a turn around from Legette more than Trevin Wallace.

We have many needs, LB EDGE TE are the more pressing.

I'd like to have another year to see with someone as raw as legette. The thing is, I feel like he's the kind of guy where you need to manufacture touches for him like Deebo or else you'll need to really work on developing him, which I doubt we can. We need guys who are immediately good out of the gate like Tmac. The problem with our team is you can't even properly evaluate or develop a lot of these guys because look at what our offense is. When we're passing for 50 yards a game and 90% of it is in the 4th quarter, everything is going to look awful. Assuming we can even complete passes, this offense has no chance of supporting three receivers. We can barely support one. If defenses don't give us everything on a platter we're completely fuged most of the time.

I think we’re starting to see the limitations in his game—he doesn’t have the wiggle of Rashee Rice or Deebo Samuel. That’s why he skipped the agility drills at the combine. So he’s a big, straight-line receiver who isn’t good at the downfield sideline things that are required from an X. He’d be interesting as a big slot with some more wiggle.

He definitely deserves another year, but he shouldn’t stand in the way of adding other options. Maybe he can find another role. Worst case, he’s big and fast and is a decent depth receiver—Renfrow and David Moore weren’t giving us more than he does.

We aren't going to get anything for him unless Jones is stupid again and wants to make another deal for our junk.

So he is here. Buyers remorse.

What I am a bit puzzled about is that he just needs more time, more reps etc. He's not a 19 or 20 year old youngster. He will be 25 at the end of January.
