Is this the lowest IQ “winning” team we’ve fielded?

If they close it out with the Bucs and end up with a winning record is this the dumbest playoff team we’ve ever had?

Bryce makes bonehead decisions constantly.

Jaycee as of late commits stupid penalties at the worst times possible.

Icky or some other OL false starts at horrible times.

I’ve watched players run to the wrong side of blocks and lose yardage when they could have run farther.

And XL, do I really need to say anything here?

Panthers are one of the least penalized team in the league despite the tinfoil hat threads that dont look at the available data.

There are some mind numbingly stupid penalties but our main issue is talent. Im not sure IQ  is Bryces issue. It's physical limitations and being meek.

XL, Sanders, Bryce, TMac and Jimmy Horn are all extremely dumb. We only have to count on one of those guys to stop being dumb and that’s TMac. The rest aren’t part of the 3 year plan.

Not really. Our 2014 team is definitely the worst playoff team we ever fielded, and it was likely a worse team than several years where we *didn't* make the playoffs (1999, 2004, 2009). We missed the playoffs one year because DJ Moore took off his helmet too early.

I don't think any of our players are as boneheaded as Byron Bell or Brenton Bersin or the like.

I’m not sure about the players but based on the comments on this board I would say it’s true for the fan base.

It's the least watchable for sure.

2014 had Cam so even a not good team was still fun and dangerous.

They're not dumb.  They just handcuffed by one of the worst starting QBs in NFL history.  The rest of the team is serviceable to good.  We just have a bum QB who is dragging the entire franchise down.  

It's not coaching.  It's not playcalling.  It's not officiating.  It's Bryce Young.  That's it.  Full stop.  We're spinning our wheels til he's gone.

I would disagree. We are also hamstrung by a bottom 5 OC and HC in the NFL.

Hence why they seem so unprepared at various times during the season, hence why we see them spontaneously go away from plays that are functional and never return, despite repeated failures.

Bryce and Dave deserve co-credit for how shitty we sometimes look. In fact, Dave moreso because his personnel decisions(including Bryce, XL, etc) are fuging terrible at times.

Lowest IQ? I don’t know about that. If the Panthers make the playoffs it would easily be the least talented playoff team they’ve ever fielded. The 2014 team had a lot of players who were stalwarts of the franchise for many years. So maybe they’re smarter than we think given the talent disparity.

Overwhelmingly the least talented.

I think people quickly forgot how big of a talent deficit we had last year. That's gonna take at least a couple of more good offseasons to really chip away at that.

XL’s complete lack of awareness about where his body is—out of bounds, offsides, whatever—is the dumbest recurring thing I’ve seen from a Panther in a long time.
