Canales just confirmed this in a press conference.

Google says recovery timeliness is 6 months to 12 months but that's obviously for a normal person probably and not a gigantic football player

Damn shame for Ickey

Canales also confirmed that Evero will be retained as defensive coordinator in the same press conference for next year. Huge bombshell!!! Lot of people won't like that lol

So we need a LT for next season.

Sucks for Icky he was probably going to get a nice contract.

Itll be something to watch. Timeline for nfl players is typically going to be on the faster end given the availability of care, but it will depend on the severity as well. Still, it was time to start thinking about another OT addition anyways.

Not good.

From the study on return to play:

The overall RTP for PT tears was 55.4% (31/56). For players with PT tears, 21.4% (12/56) returned to their prior performance level within 2 years, with 7 players doing so during the next season and 5 players doing so during the second post-injury season.

Essentially, 45.6% of players with that injury never return to NFL action. And nearly 80% of players didn't return within two seasons.

Evero’s stupid soft zone coverage should be a fireable offense. Bringing him back is stupid.

Gotta go out and draft 8 guys that are scheme fits since they are rolling with Evero. Not sure how they expect a different result otherwise

I think it's apparent that Canales personally likes Evero. Since he went from winning 5 games in 2024 to winning 8 games and going to the playoffs in 2025. We're likelu going to be stuck with Evero unless

1) Evero decides to leave for a higher position (ex head coach job)

2) Canales has a very bad season where we win 5 or fewer games in 2026. That would put pressure in him to change coordinators.

Basically we're fuged. I don't see evero getting a HC job this off season.

While acknowledging neither is good, is a patellar tendon tear worse of better than an ACL as far as recovery and length of career are concerned?

Its worse, its a longer recovery and a longer time to return full functionality, tendons are always worse.

    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
    • According to Scott Fowler, in an article about former Panthers announcer applying for a job with the Ravens... what that job pays, incidentally, when the Ravens posted it publicly they said the salary would be $4,000 to $5,000 per game. An NFL season consists of 20-24 games, including the preseason and potential playoff games, so it will end up somewhere between $80,000 and $120,000 a year. The person hired will be an independent contractor, which is commonplace in the NFL these days for team broadcasters, and also have other radio and TV hosting assignments.  https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article315839800.html
