So:

1. McMillan

2. Coker

3. Legette

4. Tremayne

5. Metchie

6. Horn

7. Moore

8. Likely draft pick (depending what round)

Yeah Legette is gone. Dan isn’t parting with Tremayne, too good of blocker, and Canales isn’t parting with Moore.

Metchie won’t make the final roster tbh.

Metchie had a great year when Bryce won the heisman.  He gives the Panthers some deep options.  He does not have to catch passes if he can keep the safeties honest, but I expect him to post his highest numbers here.  I imagine he is signing for vet min, and probably was coerced by Bryce.

I have not given up on XL like some here, but I am frustrated and pissed off about his play.

I now doubt we draft a WR, but there are so many uncertainties (Coker's health, XL's play, Metchie, etc).

XL needs to spend a couple weeks with BY and learn each other. I think XL will do what's right this off-season, cause its fork in panther career time....

I feel like XL is square peg round hole with Bryce.  I feel like he could thrive with a QB who pushes the ball down field and can throw a slant

And yet, the Jets didn't even tender him a RFA offer.

Yet another reason I don't love this, if the Jets don't think he's good enough to keep around given their WR needs, then why do we think he is?

RFA tender? Didn’t he get traded on his rookie contract? That wasn’t an option, right?

Competition in a WR room with only 2 viable starters (imo).  Maybe he makes the team better.  Maybe hes not here in September.  I dont know.

This seems like the appropriate response to this signing.

I am putting Horn over Metchie, who hasn’t done squat in 3 seasons except bounce around.

Horn ain't done squat to be honest. Metchie seems like the better all-around prospect. If nothing else, he should be able to move the chains whenever he's in.

How many teams in three years, yet still available? His numbers suck. I am, independently of Horn, calling him the equivalent of a 4AAA baseball prospect.
I guess now he is supposed to me my 4AAA prospect. Fine.

What?!?!

Say you think he can turn into something at some point, but this is a whole lot of praise for someone with less than 700 yards across 3 seasons of his career.

If he was remotely close to being the 3rd best WR on our team right now, the Jets wouldn't have let him walk without tendering him the RFA offer.

Numbers don't tell the story all the time. How much PT and targets do you think Jimmy Horn, Legette or Tremaine would have gotten on Philly or the Texans? He's much better than them if you watch him play.

TMac is probably the only Carolina WR that would have gotten on the field in Houston or Philadelphia. Everyone else is cut in training camp. Coker is actually pretty good but it would have been a numbers game for a UDFA in training camp. Remember we waived him and he cleared waivers to come back to the practice squad.

Okay. Help me apply that to Metchie being a 4AAA.

PS Also, do you reckon Coker would clear waivers today? Metchie might.

PSs I’ll stop I just didn’t want the guy. Maybe he can change my mind.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
