For all the talk of drafting another WR it's a moot point with what we have behind center. If we want to somehow navigate a winning record with our upcoming opponents we're going to need another very strong running game. People can say what they want about Rico Dowdle now that he's gone but if you remove his high level production at a critical point last season there's no way we make the playoffs or win the division. That's just all there is to it. I like Chuba Hubbard but it remains to be seen if 2024 Chuba was a mirage because of what we invested in the OL or if he will be able to replicate that again. Reasonable questions.

Blah blah blah. You don't stop building your team because the QB hasn't shown you the consistency that you want. Anything other than keeping pressing on is managerial incompetence. One monkey doesn't stop the show; you ultimately replace the damned monkey.

Once again he fails to mention the elephant in the room.

Also he's incredibly disrespectful to Coker. It ain't just T-Mac and a bunch of scrubs in that room.

Coker hasn't shown any consistency to be a WR2, much less anything more. At this point we can't even rely on him to stay on the field. He's a solid receiver, but doesn't provide the speed or dynamicism that will open up the offense; That's the real elephant in the room.

We're going to draft a receiver on day one or two; I'd bet on it. Maybe not a lot of WR1 upside, but some quality upside is definitely there in this draft.

Matthew Stafford led the league in passing with 4700 yards. That is 1.56x Bryce Young’s 3011. Coker averaged 35.8 yds/game. Multiplied by 1.56 that is 55.8. If he played all 17 games with Matthew Stafford that is 949 yds. Right now he’s either a really good 3rd option or a pretty good second option. On the Rams, even his adjusted ypg puts him as the third option, which would lower his ypg. Unfortunately, he’s only playing 11 games a season so far as well. Hopefully he bucks that trend. Point is, it’s not really disrespectful at this point to look at our WR room and say it could use a #2.

I like Coker and hope he continues to develop and plays a full season and stabilizes our #2 receiver spot for years to come, but he gets very overhyped on this board sometimes.

949 yds is a strong #2 yards production and identical to Rams #2 Adams. Not sure what your criticism is here

Coker can't stay healthy. We unfortunately don't have reason to believe he can be available for 17 games

Not identical to Adams since the 949 would be over 17 games. Like I said, even the most optimistic scenario would put him as 3rd option there. The post I responded to was saying Coker gets disrespected because of Bryce Young’s passing yardage, so I put Coker in the most optimistic scenario in the league and he’s a #3 option at best in that scenario. The criticism is not of Coker, but of the idea that with some dream scenario in which he has the #1 QB in the league throwing him the ball that he is something akin to a 1b or high end #2 option. I said he could be a good #2 (big IF on if he plays more than 2/3 of a season), and not somebody that stops you from looking to upgrade your WR room.

Rico had those big games because Canales finally stopped being a moron and put BC at RG + the Cowboys and Dolphins couldn't stop the run. After BC got hurt in the Bills game, our run game went to poo (outside of the Packers game). The common denominator in the games we couldn't run the ball... Corbett being on the field.

You guys act as if TMac doesn't exist and Coker is an afterthought. You just want a shiny new toy to argue over. I get it. It's not how you operate a football team though. Especially one that has been in the cellar as long as ours. We'll see how the first round unfolds. Surely there will be some nice prospects drop.

I used to like Solak but now I can't stand him. He has a clear anti-panthers bias. On the live FA reaction pod he was so excited to hear that Phillips had maybe re-signed in Philly but once he learned it was Carolina he hated the move. He ranked us below Atlanta, fuging Atlanta, on his FA hauls rankings.

That's pretty stupid, considering that plenty of football analysts say that we should pick a WR high. So, believe it or not, you're the one in the minority. Tells you how smart you are.

That’s pretty weak. How many analysts endorsed Bryce Young? Almost all. Yeah I am gonna use them to back up my opinion.

As long as the Panthers kept pretending that Bryce is a franchise QB I guess the media is just going to play along. If a major media market team had made that move Bryce and that team would be getting absolutely cooked but a small market team and a nice guy? They're just willing to keep playing along. Especially when they were all probably hyping Bryce coming put of Bama. Just a way for the entire football media apparatus to keep kicking the can on this gigantic miss that everybody should've seen coming.
