My one and only mock draft

Nice Verge.

The outliers for me are Fanu and Proctor. Given how teams covet tackle, I don’t see how they make it out of the teens. But there are also only so many slots…

Browns intel has been all about Freeling and Proctor ahead of Mauigua FWIW.

I could absolutely see teams that drafted tackles trade up for them. It's a strong class.

Sort of a nightmare scenario with Thienemann, Lemon, and Cooper Jr. gone. It forces Dan Morgan and company to switch gears and choose between Conception and Sadiq, and I think they get Bryce a red zone threat

It makes a lot of sense, BUT... I don't like the idea of spending another 1st on a pass catcher. With Thieneman gone, i hope we go trenches, OT, DT, ILB.

If we can grab one of those top Safeties in the draft, then I'll be happy.

If we grab the top TE, well, I'll be happy.

If we go crazy and take Rodriguez way out of line (possibly after trading down a few spots) I'll be deliriously happy.

If we grab another WR, I'm going to be a bit flummoxed.

OT, yeah, I can be satisfied with that.

Edge, I'd be scratching my head.

DT, he'd better be the best out there.

CB, I'd be wondering why not later with so many decent but not great options out there.

Punter and I'm throwing the remote through the TV set.

I just can’t see a scenario where they adore Thieneman and don’t pick swap with Detroit. It would cost next to nothing. Detroit gets a late pick and the opportunity to screw Minnesota, while exchanging what is basically one slot down the board. There hasn’t been much projected overlap in their needs.

if he goes 18 then I suspect they liked him but didn’t love him.

Proctor is gonna get his doors blown off by NFL edge rushers.

    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
    • I mean, our TE room does suck but we had other pressing needs and no surefire upgrades in the draft. I was surprised at how many TEs went in the first three rounds. I think most everyone was. You want a guy who projects at least as a guy who has the potential ceiling to be a starter in those rounds and I didn't see 11 of those in this draft. Off the top of my head, I think that's how many TEs went in the first three rounds. It was in that range. That's roughly 10% of the overall picks. Definitely did NOT see that coming with this TE class.
