what does Bryce's 2026 season need to look like for you to be oaky with extending him?

this past season Brock Purdy was injured in the season opener / week 1 against the Seahawks & he missed almost 8 or 10 games as a result of that injury .

Young played the Seahawks in week 17, Purdy played them the following week (18) and then again two weeks later in the Playoffs.

And maybe he was injured earlier in the season but the week prior to the Seahawks game, he passed for 330 yards with 3 TDs and an INT against the Bears.

this past season in week 1  Brock Purdy had 277 yards / 2 TD's & the 49ers also  beat the Seahawks 

&  to be honest  i don't completely understand what you are really trying to say?

Keep improving, Canales needs to let Bryce throw over 30 at times a game minimum, let him make mistakes and be aggressive downfield.

Dont think he signs at 35M. That's what other QBs are getting when they move to another team. When the original team is signing the QB, contracts are in the mid 50s. If we do an extension, mid 50s is the number we should realistically expect.

I can only think of a few QB's worth 50M and while I am a Young supporter, he is not one of them. But then, I think the QB position has become over valued. Everyone's looking for the next Brady and MaHomes and paying as if they have found them. I think Seattle and Phily has shown you don't need 50M QBs to win ( and I am aware Hurts is a 50M QB. I just think they won with a running game and defense more than with his arm).

I wouldn’t want to pay Hurts or Purdy that kind of money.

I surely would throw up if they gave that to Beyce. 
 

Honestly with me and Bryce it is more the time he is given than the money. Of course the money guarantees the time. 
I just in no way want to be handcuffed to him for another three years.  
Theoretically he could change that but theoretically Musk could colonize Mars. And I would give that better odds of happening.

Why would I care about a Niners player and what that player is getting? I am not a Niners fan, and have no comment on what they might pay their players. It's not my concern.

I think if he can show improvement in all categories, 3500+ yards to quiet the 200 yard average talk, 30> TD's and >10 INT's.

it would be nice to win the division convincingly but hey, we never held not making the post season back to back season against Cam. 

funny thing is, I think most fans would prefer to see an impressive stat line from him than a playoff appearance / win.

just wanted to hear everyone's opinion on what they personally need to see, not trying to bicker with anyone.

oh and inb4 the there's nothing he can do comments...

a 200 y/g average would be a nice improvement for him.  180 career y/g average over the years 180 171 and 188 but in my mind to extend him would need a top 10 season at qb in pretty much every stat

Averaging over 200 yards a game would be the bare minimum of a start. Cam would have games in the 150-180 range passing, but he threw in 75 yards rushing to go with it. Bryce...ain't got that in him.

Said earlier in the thread, but bigger than the numbers is just being consistently decent even, and then throw in a handful of great games. Being consistently decent, and then tossing in multiple games of 80-120 yards passing? Get out.

Exactly.

Carson Beck was taken in the 3rd round and loads of people were screaming that he was overdrafted.

He's a damn sight more physically talented than Bryce Young - and has a similar College resume.
