$100 mill guaranteed

Only 1 1,000 yard season

This WR market is an absolute mess.

How many people remember the conversations about DJ Moore before his first contract extension here? Three consecutive 1k yard seasons and a revolving door at QB and he only got $41 million guaranteed back in 2022.

Good thing they still don’t have a QB.

Yeah he's never really been a big threat on routes as is and they'll probably be playing a rookie qb next year on top of the Penix and Tua show this year so weird move in my opinion but doesn't bother me! Even if they had a good qb I don't mind him eating into their cap as their "wr1"

Probably because he gave up or half assessed it a lot and got half his yards in trash time. His teams was so bad which explains both.

I've been saying this for a decade and a half here, but here we go again:

If your highest paid player on the team is a WR then you've got big problems.

I think it depends if that receiver is a true difference maker. Megatron or Jerry Rice, no issues there imo. But those are very few and far between.

Rice was always balanced by two of the greatest QBs to ever play the game.

Megatron may actually prove the statement a bit. He was probably the second best WR to ever play the game (see above for #1) but he was the only star in Detroit for a looooong time. That team just threw money at him and hoped they could grow a team in the shade of the man.

Great WRs are incredibly important, but they just can't be a factor in every play. A QB, LT... yep, money better spent. DE, MLB, same.

But building a football team is a desperate and intricate balancing act. Not a lot of folks do it well or for long.
