Anyone else get the feeling Kugzilla will go to IR

I don't think he goes to IR unless he misses his targeted return date, but I do think that return to practice time-frame of "next week" will be a binary decision of he's back or he's to IR.

I don't expect to see any drawn out will he be back or won't he drama.

Also, they're putting him onto the field with the first string during "installs". I very seriously doubt they would even bother with making sure HE is the one that runs mental reps during the first time run through of play installations, if they weren't planning on having him back this year.

I always get confused when players get put onto IR for simple and non serious injuries. I thought it was just a hamstring? I can see how it lingers and its a pain to come back from one.

If a player cant play week 1, do they have to be on the PUP or IR? Rules?

there aren't rules for it, no, but those designations save a roster spot that someone who is healthy can fill.

Usually, though, guys will be put onto IR for non-serious injuries when a) the coaches/front office thinks there is someone else on the team who can do similar things but want to keep both players around, b) the player is a prospect/project that the team is working on and developing for the future and instead of placing that player on the PS (which means they have to clear waivers and can still be signed by another team), the immediately are stashed away for the future without another team trying to get at them.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
