...if gettleman can work his magic and get out of their contracts.

Jonathan Stewart (ankles) may not be ready when he's eligible to come off the PUP list in Week 7.

Reporters have noticed Stewart "grimacing in pain even after a slight exertion." Writes columnist Scott Fowler, "Stewart may not play the whole year, either." It's clear Stewart isn't close to playing in a game, and there's no guarantee he'll be healed up in two months. Ex-GM Marty Hurney gave Stewart a six-year, $37.8 million contract with $22.5 million guaranteed one year ago.

Jstew is damaged goods and DeAngelo is useless.

Both are overpaid at a position where it's really easy to be replaced, and both are under(not) performing when it's easy to get production.

I just love how a guy who has yet to play a single NFL game has already been anointed DeAngelo/JStew's replacement. Maybe we should wait to see him actually play in a couple of games before making a decision.

And DeAngelo is useless! Do you overreact much? Seems he did ok at the end of last season and was ranked 8th best out of 52 two seasons ago by Football Outsiders.

The minute both of them are gone all these motherfugers that have put so much effort into defending them are going to automatically get 100% behind the idea they're gone as if they knew the whole time we had no direction with them on the team and conveniently forget everything they said about giving them more carries and how much the running game would help Cam and so on

funny how someone who thinks DWill is a huge commodity for this team thinks other people are overreacting...

    • You are right--it was DC.  I remember talking to him at Belk in Albemarle one day--the Panthers were on a bye and they were (at the time) a disapointing 4-4.  I mentioned that the record was disappointing and he seemed to get a bit annoyed.  He dId not say anything.  I trying to suggest that we will get better, but I think he was pretty upset about it.  No hard feelings, but the man was simply trying to shop with his wife and this annoying jerk starts making comments about his job---I get it.  I apologized, telling him that I was trying to be supportive and not critical--he did not think it was a big deal.  I'd see him at events from time to time-he'd wave or say hi, but it was awkward for me.  Figured I would say something stupid.  Jordan was pretty popular--nothing like she seems to be now--she is holding her own in a man's world...proud of her.
    • Like we have had the last 3 years.
    • In May of 2026, it looks like a challenging schedule...and it probably is.  I rarely listen to the "strength of schedule" conversations that light up social media this time of year. Each year teams improve and decline. I think there's chunks of the year we need to take care of business and the week 5 bye is not desired.  I do think if we don't hit the bye week at 3-1, it's going to be a major uphill battle given the schedule in front of us. This season falls on three people, regardless of schedule strength: Canales, Bryce, Evero.  Canales: Finally can truly coach all aspects of the team and not focus with gameday prep for OC duties anymore. He drives the bus and needs to get these guys in position to win each week. There's no way vets come in and put it on the line every week to watch our QB sh!t the bed (See: SF game last year). Bryce: Despite everyone's obsession with thinking Bryce is a guaranteed extension, I think this year will truly be his "prove it" year. If he comes out the way he has the past three years, I really don't see how vets and coaches can continue to put him under center long-term. He might play out that fifth year as the starter, but I think next offseason his long-term replacement is found. I also think there's no excuses with the weapons and commitment we've made on offense to insulate him with every possible weapon.  Evero: Best personnel he's had since he's been here...no excuses. Figure out how to blitz effectively. Figure out how to use CBs whose strengths are press/man. Figure out how to utilize a talented front-7 to get the hell of the field. Outside of FS and maybe....maybe ILB, there are few weaknesses on this unit.
