Across Enemy Lines - Seattle Seahawks

Seattle won't be able to get much pass rush (they'll get some because, you know, Byron Bell), so I suspect Cam will be able to put the ball on target. The question in my eyes is how much separation our Non-Smith pass catchers can get.

It'd be especially wonderful if the ball catching versions of Ted Ginn and Brandon LeFell show up.

If Shula has complety ditched the read option, then he's truly as bad as I have feared.

A sprinkle here or there is fine.

If it is the mainstay of our offense.... its going to be a long season.

it has to be just enough that the other team is forced to expect it and keep a spy on him. this takes one player out of play, essentially. i think it was a fine strategy for someone like vick who wasn't a total package Qb who could throw the ball. for someone like cam who can really stretch the field and who has smitty commanding double coverage, olsen who is just flat dangerous to them, lafell who is just plain respectable, and a guy like ginn going long...yeah i'll take that. their defense is going to be spread thin.

it really sounds like, tho, that they are more concentrated on him running and are more focused on stopping it. this only opens things up for other options. i love that they don't trust his arm.

Agreed. It's been said before but I would love to see a lot of Ginn/LaFell out wide with Smitty in the slot.

We simply need LaFell, Olsen or one of the mix of guys at #3 to have a coming out party IMO to win.

RBs and Smitty can't win this one IMO. It will be won elsewhere

If Cam is getting time in the pocket I think we will see Ginn come in.

I also don't want to see us ditch the read option plays, I just want them to be used in situations where they should be used. Not 2nd and 13 or 1 and 10 from the 20 with 2 minutes left.

Nice write up Zod.  Interesting to see what their media is saying.

Rotator cuff tear is a bitch... don't see how you can play football with one torn...  my tear was very small, but I couldn't move my arm above shoulder height nor turn it out until I got it fixed.

I feel fortunate to have never had one, ouch that sounds awful.

I'm lookin for the D/ST to put us in good position so we don't hav to go the length of the field every drive. As long as we protect the ball, we should be fine. Cam can throw, he doesn't have to run. However, he is good throwin off the run. Making something out of nothin is sorta something he has had to do, and has done. I believe our team is better than most believe, we shall see.

    • Nussmeier shows all the qualities, but has a really bad game here and there. Sellers is raw, we will see how things play out.
    • Wait......CRA is now playing UP our receivers?
    • Well let's be realistic here. He could have taken one look at Bryce Young on tape and known what he was getting. As JackieLee stated his work with QB's like Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield is a big contributing factor in why he was hired. At the same time we also have to recognize other factors. Seemingly and realistically he was the only one seriously considering the job. And as far as "fixing" Bryce Young goes one entire staff has already gotten the axe over him. Frank Reich was vilified as possibly the worst head coaching hire ever. 2 years later the more we see of Bryce the more it looks like he was the problem. Right now we are at a true crossroads. We cannot just play out the season with Young and be a serious franchise. We have to try and see what we have in the young roster and firmly get some sort of look at Canales offense. At this point Dave Canales needs to earn the right to draft his own QB. So far he has developed bupkis at the most important position. And he and Dan Morgan made the decision to not give Bryce Young one iota of competition for the third year in a row. He cannot claim the cupboards are bare beyond his control.
