How many more times will Philly Brown muff a punt before he's pulled?

Philly's problem is he is out of position.  On all of those muffs, he's sprinting to where the ball is coming down.  If you have to get into position as the ball is coming down, I would rather you back away from it.  So Brown will have to position himself better so he can catch the ball cleanly.

I agree.  He often seems to be lunging at the last second for it.

Philly B. is a liability to this team as a punt returner and you best brlieve opposing nfl coaches will try their best capitalize.so who would consider as a replacement?LaMichael James, currently on the miami dolphins practice squad.

Devin Hester had 8 fumbles his rookie year. 8. Philly Brown has had 2 fumbles in 5 games. Rookies fumble. You don't just scrap their careers after 2 fumbles or you'll have a constant revolving door of non-developing players.

I see problems, but I also see potential.  I think even though he returned the punt for a TD, he seemed shaken after that punt because he got absolutely BLASTED, illegally so at that.  IMO, you can't give up on him right now because You don't want to take him off the active roster because he WILL get gobbled up by another team, and without cutting him, I don't see another spot available to trim to add another returner.  Summation, stick with him and give him a chance to learn from his mistakes.

And now has 35 in 7 plus years.

Sometimes the good outweighs the bad.

But there must be a lot of good.
