What happens if one of our tackles get injured?

I can't believe we haven't at least added an OT to the practice squad.  Our starters suck and our depth behind them is virtually nonexistent.  We have to be the only team in the NFL, possibly NFL history, that doesn't have a single drafted OT on their roster.

Bell, Chandler, Williams, and Foucault were all undrafted free agents.

It's sad. Just plain sad. To make it even more laughable, Bell actually thinks he's a good player.

I believe our staff has a plan in place if this occurs. More than likely we will have a guard play tackle if Bell or Chandler go down. I think the Canadian would be first in line while Norwell could be next in line or we could move Amni to play tackle and Velasco would be the starting guard.

I hate that Gary Williams is hurt. He is a good backup and has plenty of experience with our system. We must draft a tackle in the first two rounds this upcoming draft. I would really love for us to do what the 49ers did and rebuild our offensive line with top draft picks.

A lot of these guys were battling injuries (or age).

You could argue that since they're only playing a partial season it might be okay, but I don't see a whole lot of options here that inspire confidence.

I honestly don't know that I have ever seen a bigger managerial failure by an organization than the state of our OT situation.

Not only was it bad that they were content to risk the fate of the season on a pair of players who haven't played well, it's amplified by the fact that they didnt even feel the need to provide dependable bodies behind them in the likely scenario they were not any good or missed some time to injury.

At this point I can't help but wonder if the refusal to sign a FA OT desite the dire need for one is Gettleman being stubborn or an honest fear by the organization that anybody brought in would force their way onto the field over everybody's favorite hard working get rowdy chant left hander.

Yeah, it's one thing when an organization makes moves and they don't work out.  Hell, that happens to every team on occasion.  It's another thing when everyone knows that there's a massive hole on the roster, the organization makes zero effort to address it, then acts as if the gutter trash currently on the roster was the answer all along.

For those still blaming Hurney, guess what... virtually every incoming GM is facing a challenge.  There's a reason why the position was available.  If the former GM retires, often the replacement was being groomed within the organization.  When the former GM gets fired, it's because he made a mess of the situation.  As far as messes go, the Panthers weren't a terrible one.  Inheriting two young cornerstone studs like Cam and Luke isn't a luxury most incoming GMs have.  A young franchise QB is the holy grail.  Gettleman had one handed to him and has chose not to give one single fug to protect him and now he's getting beat to hell.  It's like entering a Ferrari into a demolition derby.
