Am I the only one that thinks the Nate Chandler to OT should be put to death?

Yeah that project almost got Cam killed.. I honestly thought he was playing defense all the times he was around Cams ankles..

Yeah he was pretty terrible. And to think I thought he would beat bell for the LT job.

Honestly he has some of the same measurables as Gross but has less experience than the French canadian tackle on our team.

how terrifying is it that as bad as Chandler was, Bell was worse.

we could put two stop signs at both OT spots and get better pass protection.

even more optimistically, i am excited to see the strides this offense will make with improved OT play (which is a given no matter who we put there)

I disagree that Bell was worse.

Chandler never played offensive line before the 2013 season. We won a lot of games with him in the lineup, but he was the weak link, not a surprise star. He just doesn't understand the position, that's no fault of his own.

I think Gettleman sees that being smart and being able to respond to coaching is more important than athleticism at this point. Norwell isn't a great athlete but he knows how to block. He doesn't blow assignments as much.

I think Remmers being a backup is the starting point. Now add someone better than Remmers and a mix of veterans and youth on the other side. I'd like to see how Remmers looks after an off season but he was worse than Bell in the playoffs.

I still believe in nate. He did have a awful year, but before he was a fairly average OG. Who knows maybe he could be a super 6th OLman that plays OG/LT/RT, those are needed come game day. I do know nate works hard in the of season, he may come back a changed player. He's still new to the OL.

Chandler is cheap and has only played offensive line for less than 2 years. Compare that with guys who struggle their first couple of years in the NFL after spending their whole college career at offensive line. Maybe he can stil be salvaged and used as a backup while he continues to learn the position.
