Has Voth changed his opinion of Hardy's future?

Think about having Hardy in situations where we had Wes Horton and Mario Addison playing last year.

 

Let that sink in, and then decide if you want Hardy back.

I definitely think it matters.  Sufficient player support could do a lot to change the dynamic.

 

But there's still one very major obstacle.

 

Hardy is likely to be suspended by the league.  If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say four games, but six or more is definitely possible,

 

And if that happens, then we're talking about a contract and roster spot for Hardy for a partial season for the second year in a row.

 

That's gonna be a tough sell.

The pics of Holder from May 13 have always been the big missing piece, for both parties. Public hasn't seen them. NFL has to try.

This sort of news doesn't even contradict what JI has been saying. The office intends to let him walk. This is the players trying to keep him. Maybe it'll work out that way, but it's tough to be optimistic that it would.

 

 

Rivera vocally wants to keep him, the players vocally want to keep him, and if Greg is willing to play for cheap then at that point it's pretty absurd to get rid of him.

Even if JR is willing to entertain it, it has to git into Gettleman's plans...  if Hardy's going to want market value money, he'll walk...   if he does agree to play for cheap (like, really cheap) why not sign him back?

Just my opinion but if davis wants it then Luke wants it. I have nlw heard Kalil, CJ, TD, and Cotchery advocate for him to come back. Some pretty well respected guys.

 

 

Listened to TD do an interview 2 days ago on the radio while driving home from work and when asked about wanting Hardy back he stated he would like to have Hardy's talent back on the field. Praised his play on the field, work ethic, and love of the game.....then he finished by saying he also respects the fact that there are some serious hurdles when it comes to Greg that makes him coming back to the Panthers difficult. Listening to him speak, didn't seem to me like he was 100% lobbying for Greg to come back honestly. Not saying he was against it either though.

Anyone who thinks Hardy will play here on a deal materially less than what another team would pay him is nothing more than dillusional.

It is a business..plain and simple.

Money flat out talks... Just like all of you would switch to another company for a material raise.

 

I don't agree.  There's a CHANCE he really wants to play here with his teammates who are also friends here and finish what they started. 

 

It's not like he's struggling to pay his condo bill and feed his kids.  Anything under $5 mil on a prove it deal should be enough

The new rule that was brought in last year for athletes facing criminal cases states:

1) players will be put on the commissioner's exempt list until their case was settled

2) NFL would then base its punishment on conclusion of the case

3) players involved in DV would face a 6 game ban

It's not always that black or white. Winning might be very important to JR, but not as important as being portrayed in the media as "indifferent to domestic violence."

Just like the Peterson suspension shows, the NFL does not consider paid time off a suspension.
