D. Williams is a man, and is entitled to his thoughts and feelings, just is any person is.

I tend not listen to what players say after they've been cut.

I don't think any words can tarnish the fact that he was a pro's pro, and what he has accomplished as a Panther.

Like i said in anothee thread, i don't give a damn what he has to say about the Panthers at this point.

I care about what he says because his allegations not only attempt to make the Panthers organization look bad but they can have an adverse effect when we try to sign free agents.

It is refreshing to see a rare highly paid falling highly paid star go out like Delhomme. Most take swipes. Williams, Jenkins, Peppers, 89, Beason....most take some sort of jab back at different levels.

No doubt, Jake was a class act and standup guy but considering all the money Hurney gave him,i wouldn't expect Jake to open his mouth no matter what. :)

Anyone ever think that his mothers funeral might have been at a time when his teammates could not go. Hardy was on the list so he would be free.

Funeral: May  Staff and FO busy with rookie mini camp and fallout from Hardy arrest the week before

Exempt List: September

I lost some respect for him. I've heard he's an asshole to fans as well. I appreciate his production and the great memories he made in Carolina. The disgruntled bit is sad to be honest. You're a damn millionaire. Be Grateful you were drafted, it was time to move on.

Lmao. Funny you never said that when he was on the team

His heart is in Arkansas /Memphis.... I wish him well in the future and was sorry to hear of his mom's passing. To be quite honest, it's nobody's business why teammates/organization employees did or did not choose to attend a funeral. That is private stuff and I refuse to cast judgements about it. He should have left that alone.

Agreed. I said I thought his legacy was some what tarnished because it seemed a bit childish to bring it up. I understand why he would be upset, but no one knows why some didn't make it. Probably spending time with their families (players), dealing with draft (coaches/GM). I thought it was jacked he mentioned it.

DWill has been my favorite Panther for quite a while but this tarnished how I feel about him. To finally do a local interview only to bash the hand that fed you regardless if it's true or not. Voice it to your friends/family/coworkers if you feel you need to then move on. My bosses don't go to any of our funerals either and we really don't care they don't.

    • We have seen Bryce get outplayed by all manner of QBs, from UDFAs to second round picks.  If we actually scouted any QBs it would not be a difficult task to upgrade from Bryce, you guys act like he is even decent. He is one of the worst starters league wide stop making excuses.
    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
