2015 Carolina Panthers Roster Projection

Nice breakdown.

I think its too early to tell what will happen in the secondary....especially with a guy like Coleman, as a poster mentioned above.  Historically when Gettleman signs a DB for over a mil a year they stick.  I don't think Harper is a lock to start.   Harper would be much more valuable if we utilize him in sub-packages but that's just my take.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen this sort of competition at WR going into a Panthers camp before. It really seems to me that after KB no one is safe.

Regarding A.J Klein....we would be complete idiots to let that kid go.  Seems like a very smart player, and I'm sure he hears the chatter about his status.  I expect him to come in ready to go.  Seems like he and Kuechly have a good chemistry on the field.  If something were to happen to Davis or Kuechly having a guy like Klein there becomes invaluable.

Just my take.  You know more than I.

Proehl mentioned he really liked Hill. With all the spent at Carolina, I think he may have a better feel for the Panthers offense to insert himself in the roster over Boykin. Even Rivera said he was excited to see him in OTAs.

All I want is a viable WR to whom Cam will throw on 3rd and short instead of overthrowing KB on bombs.

Now that rookie camp is over and all the tryout players have been signed, here is how I see the Panthers roster shaking out as of today.

4 TE's and no A.J. Klein. Bold. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out. Also did they carry 6 WR's last year?

I believe the only time we carried 6 WR's in the last couple years was at the end of 2013 when Steve Smith was injured.

Last year was Kelvin, Cotchery, Avant, Philly and Bersin then Presley was called up from the practice squad after Avant got cut.

    • Yeah. As a wild card team. Washington won the division at 10-6.
    • no doubt but flip that.   The current system insures that there are "regional" games in the early weeks. maximizing the reach of playoff football.  If all of the WC weekend for a conference took place on the west coast they are reducing the "reach" of their hype machine.
    • Hard to say with London--he never ran--combine or pro day.  Here is what AI says, and it is always 100% accurate: Drake London's 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine was not recorded because he was dealing with a fractured ankle at the time. While he didn't participate in the 40 at the Combine or his pro day, his coach said his 40 time was estimated to be between 4.4 and 4.53 seconds. Some sources also list his 40 time at 4.58 and 4.6 seconds Unless you are running 9s all day, top end 40 speed is rarely reached.  I have always looked at the 3-cone drill.  At his pro day, TMac ran a 6.86--pretty good, actually.  For context, it is faster that Rome Odunze (6.88) who ran a 4.45 40.  Odunze is 6'3" and weighs 216, fwiw, and is considered a very good route runner with no wasted motion.  Mike Evans 3-cone was 7.08.  To put it in a broader context, through 2022, with all NFL prospect 3-cone drills combined, a 6.86 puts TMac in the.89th percentile-  Now consider the fact that he is 6'4" and 220.   We might have something here.  '
