I think you answered your own question.

Cotchery is about 90% a lock.  He's the only real WR veteran on the team (Ginn doesn't really count in that aspect as he's still learning the position in his own right).  It would be down right shocking if Bersin made it over Cotchery.

You cant be 90% a lock. You either are a lock or you aren't, and I don't believe cotchery is.

I don't think Bersin is the token Panther because he is from JR.s college.  I think he has been around long enough that he is more worthy than some of the bigger names.

 

If you are looking a good possession receiver.  I like Bersin.  Good hands, very reliable, great routes and is tall.

I have no idea who I think will be cut.  For the first time in many years.  Teams are going to be watching our cut list.  That seems odd to say.

If we had more competent talent at WR Bersin's best case scenario would be making it as the last WR who never sees the field during the season.  This is why I really hoped we would do more with the position.   I suppose as long as we lose Cotchery OR Bersin by the time the season starts, I can live with it though...  I was happy for BB making the team and all last season with his story, and he seems like a great guy, but he isn't very good. 

Also, as far as RB, I'm pretty sure I said it when we signed him, but Todman will absolutely make this team, and I could see him surpassing Fozzy when all is said and done.  It's kind of been a running joke here on the huddle, where anytime we would sign someone at RB, multiple people would say, "I think we've found our Darren Sproles."   Fozzy has been the closest to it, but I'm telling you,  I think Todman is the real deal in regards to being thscat-back we've been looking for.

If Bersin makes it, then that just confirms to me that Hill, Byrd, Cotchery and/or Boykin are on borrowed time. Funchess, Benjamin, Brown and Ginn are locks in my opinion. That's four spots already. We typically carry five receivers on game day.

maybe we can have someone who can play WR6, as well as backup QB and LT.

      Here is what it said about him coming out of college: Overview A three-year starter with good feet and technique, Samac could be in consideration for a move-blocking rushing attack. He is strong at the point of attack but will have limitations against NFL power. He operates with good hand placement and nimble feet and is a demon once he’s on the move as a pulling center leading the way. He’s fluid and agile in the run game, but those traits fail to do as much for him in protection. Samac punches with inside hands but can struggle to widen his protection base in order to protect his edges. He has eventual starting talent as a run blocker but needs to add more mass and improve in pass protection to get there.

      Through 2 games cltfc has 12 shot attempts. Opponents 23 shots on target. Attack sucks, Defense definitely sucks. Kahlina is the only reason they haven't given up 14 goals in two games.

      I met a few times--never liked him. I figured he might have had a bad day--but then realized that he must have a lot of bad days. Once he raised his voice at my son because my son did not understand a question when SS was signing his jersey.  I wanted the jersey to represent his encounter with a Panther great, not some small man with a bad attitude.  I told me son, "Forget it.  He was asking you what your name is (My son was about 7 and told me that he thought Smitty was going to write (my son's) name on the jersey.  He said "Dad, I thought he was supposed to write HIS name on the jersey, not mine."  I said, "He was personalizing it, writing it to you--like a birthday card."  He is now grown, and he has a steve smith Jersey that is framed and matted.  He keeps it is his closet.  I asked him, "Why not have that out on your wall?"  He said, "All I remember is an A-hole scribbled on my shirt.  I don't remember a legend or hero.  But he had a Jake Delhomme Jersey on his wall.  "Jake was great.  I will always remember that."  (Jake stayed and talked to us for about 5 minutes or more--GREAT guy.)
