Daryl Williams getting PFF love

I don't think this has been posted yet, but I may have missed it.  Over at PFF, Daryl Williams is getting a lot of notice.  They have him as the best tackle of the rookie class and the #3 rookie overall based on the 1st 3 preseason games.  Love it.

The "experts" are really gonna have to learn they look foolish giving Gettleman such poor draft grades each year.  Our rookies rock.

  1. Daryl Williams, OT, Panthers (5.5)

While this year’s high draft picks at tackle struggle against first-team players, lower down the depth chart Daryl Williams, a fourth-round pick of the Panthers, has been the best rookie tackle of the preseason. Like Easton at center, Williams has allowed just a single hurry (from his 91 snaps of play) and has graded positively as a run blocker in each of his three games.

I dont know how this kid doesnt start...i like remmers and all but Williams is clearly better and needs to be on the field.

He might start Week 1 at RT.  Remmers is the backup C at the moment with Kalil and Folkerts both questionable with injury.

Would not doubt that Kalil will either take a pay cut or get cut after this season.  Remmers could probably handle the position and we would not lose a beat at RT.

Kalil and Stewart are probably the last of the big Hurney contracts left, at least I think Kalil was a Hurney contract

Remmers has put in quality snaps.  It's not like he sucks.  D Will 2.0 is a rookie, and has to adjust to the learning curve.  Regardless, we have amazing depth on the OL when just last year we were wondering if Cam should take out a term life insurance policy.

Mayo can have an impact on special teams if they choose him over Trusnik. And we would receive a comp pick if Trusnik was cut.

How do you get a comp pick for cutting a player? I dont think it works that way.....for many reasons.

    • Nah, just because someone would rather put the eggs in the main guys’ basket on a complete it or go home play doesn’t equate to dissing the least experienced WR on the field in order to make Young look bad. That’s ridiculous frankly.    You supporters do act like no one has any grounds to criticize 4 and out with three timeouts and 30 yards to gain. It was pretty disappointing, you have to admit.    This other stuff with the negative on him, well let’s see how the season starts next year, it is all over but the arguing for 2025.     We, understandably, do not want to be in a Tua situation long term.    Myself, I have stated pretty clearly what it will take to drop my misgivings and as good a few games as he did put together, that bar has not been met. And if you want to win in the NFL your QB  has to unlock this poo.    Raise the floor, make it consistently repeatable, and the other thing is be able to beat someone with the arm, when made one dimensional.  How the hell is that unreasonable? We are looking at 4 years.
