Consistently dumb play will eventually cost you.   And the reason it is called dumb football is because it should never cost you.

Smith did plenty of jawing.  Yet he won games for us despite it.  If josh has the game he had today, every single game of the year, we would be ecstatic.

is norman the flavor of the day now? Holy hell, the guy had a solid game. Is he perfect, no, but all this hypothesizing about something that didn't happen. Are other fan bases this hypercritical of their players? We are 1-0 in the fugging NFL and I'm going to enjoy that for a few days. Ya'll welcome to join me.

well, to me....that wasn't elite CB play today.  It was a dude who made 2 plays. 

When Bortles of all people sees you as a someone to target.....THAT says something.  Pick 6 standing.  It was evident Bortles was going specifically at Norman.   

But it is silly of me to ask people to look past the showboating pick 6 to talk about him in general...

Still think the plays he makes over the course of a season will be canceled out by "bad Josh"

he targeted bene at a much higher rate and was more successfull in getting completions. He got 1 big play against Norman and a bunch of shorter stuff including a short quick strike td while Norman had 4-5 tackles, tfl, 2 pass breakups, ff and recovery and a pick 6.

IMO the whiners need to grow a pair.  Its the NFL, it's supposed to be a form of ENTERTAINMENT.  This crap in society that no one can offend anyone else is hot garbage.  The league was leaps and bounds better when touchdown celebrations were allowed and trash talk wasn't policed so heavily.  Let the men be men.  They all have ego's and for good reason.  They are each 1 of less than 2k people that make it in the NFL.  Tom Brady whines and poo talks more than anyone and 99% of society would let him kiss their mother, at least before his balls got deflated.  Let the man play his game and do his talking, thats who he is.  His good play more than offsets his VERY rare penalty.  Also, at the end of the year if Dave and Co do not pay Josh, someone else will.  I just hope they see the value and give the man his 1 big deal because father time doesn't stop for anyone and Josh will be over 30 by the time his next contract ends, for sure.

Norman basically won us this game. 

And as big of a hothead as he is I wish the team would embrace that kind of confidence instead of shunning it away.

Exactly. This is his fourth year and he's drawn two or three dumb penalties and one of those was preseason. You would think by the very adimet but very wrong OP he would be getting one every other game. 

Does he miss some plays? Yes of course but Luke misses just as many and his play isn't in question.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure KB is right there with him in terms of frequency of penalties on extra curricular stuff...don't see anyone trying to throw dirt on KB.

I said this in the game day thread, but I'll repeat it here.

If Norman can back up his taunting I don't care for a penalty every now and then. Smitty did this all the time too.

He's got swagger,  let him play that way. It will pay off for us more often then not.

I lol'd on his pick six, was the highlight of the game for me.
