ESPN still taking runs at Cam

ESPN is still on board with trying to diminish Cam Newton for what happened in Florida. 7 years after he left the squad. I'm so tired of this bullshit. The man clearly matured, understood what he needed to do in order to be a leader, and became a better person. Why do these articles continuously pop up while other guys continue to get passes for everything they've done? I hear more about Cam Newton's past than I hear about Roethlisberger's and there nowhere near comparable.

Some people can't get over Cam's "fake smile." It's ridiculous.

What was wrong with the article?

The rise and fall of Florida was something they were discussing recently and Cam leaving had a big impact on that, at least based off what he did at Auburn.  I think it is a legit question to ask if he would have had the same success if he never left Florida in the first place.  Cam would probably be the first to tell you he's matured a lot since.

    • My take on Darnold was always that he was fine with a good offensive line but would wilt under pressure with a poor line (Jets and Panthers). Seattle began the year w/ a pretty bad oline and they improved somewhat but Darnold is showing he is a pretty good qb. Imagine what the Panthers would be today with Darnold and without Bryce Young and all the wasted draft picks to get him.
    • Similar situation but that would be a better version than what we currently have. Sam isn't a franchise QB but he is a good bridge guy. Either Seatle finds a young guy to groom or they have hit their ceiling. They 100% can't put it on Sam's shoulders and expect to win but the team needs to carry less with him at QB to win vs what this team has to do with Bryce.
    • to me the post would suggest Sam Darnold was good last night because Seattle won in a wild game.   Which is what we do with Bryce Young.   Sam Darnold didn't play well last night.  Which is how he trends, goes to a new team.....looks okay and becomes classic Sam Darnold down the stretch.  Last 6 or 7 weeks old bad Sam is coming out a lot (and then a weird Atlanta game mixed in lol).
