Official Saints at Panthers Gameday Thread

I hate to say it, but our defense looked pretty bad 'at times' today. We had no pressure. Norman made that play all on his own, and it certainly would have been a touchdown had Norman not beat him by 2 inches...

Another ugly win, but that is Carolina football.

3-0

Our defense allowed a Luke McCown offense to move the field at will.  Thats unsettling.

Then again, Cam and Thor were awesome.

We still would have lost though if TD and Norman hadn't made great individual plays to create turnovers.

A win is a win.

be careful , you'll get called a superfan.

Maybe you're young and haven't watched the NFL very long, but every win doesn't turn out pretty.  Sometimes you play ugly and still win.

Here's another little piece of info newb: (whispers) ugly wins count just as much as pretty ones.

Rewatch the full schedule of previous champions. 100% guaranteed those championship teams didnt win'em all "pretty".

But thats what you members of the Ritalin Generation demand: every win a work of perfection and pretty.  And if you don't get that? You pout.

Norman and Newton both had standout plays. Olsen played very well. TD tattooed motor-mouth Khiry (very nice). And all those faux huddle claps and finger licking from old man mole went wasted.

Overall we we looked bad, lost one of the most handsomely compensated, veteran starters on our squad, and made a career backup look like a player that has made a fool out of every talent scout in the league for a full decade.

A win is a win is a win, however. Hope this serves as motivation

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
