In your opinion are we the 2013 Chiefs or more the Seahawks?

Enough cannot be said of how amazing it is we are 7-0, I mean this team is so unbelievable and the fact we are 7-0 without our star WR and our GOAT MLB practically missing the first 4 games is remarkable.

I was doing some thinking and I remember in 2013 when the Chiefs started the season at 9-0, (crazy to think right?) and went on to finish 11-5, got a wild card and lost in the first round after the Luck led Colts came back after being down by like 24 pts and needless to say the Chiefs lost in the playoffs.

That year the Chiefs had a so so offense but a very stout D like ours.

Or are we more like the Seahawks? Elite D, opportunistic, ground and pound running game that are legit SB contenders? I guess the argument could be made that the Chiefs that year came out of nowhere with a new HC and suprised a lot of people whereas we are more battle tested and coming off two consecutive playoff seasons whereas the Chiefs were coming off a 2-14 season.

What say you?

I live in KC and saw a lot of the 2013 Chiefs... that team was incredibly overrated and anyone who wasn't a Chiefs fan knew they were an 8-8 team that benefited from some serious good fortune. Any successful team in the NFL has some bounces and breaks go their way, but this Carolina team is galvanized in a way that the Chiefs weren't (and still aren't) and plays within itself to maximize the considerable talent on the roster. They drive us fans crazy with uneven performances like the one Monday night, but this team is not overrated. No comparison.

Everyone hates on PU for starting threads but we already have responses to his questions and I predict this thread will go 10+ pages (as many of his other threads do).

They may be stupid but I do have some time to kill so will be checking back.

At least he has slowed down (?)

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
